We were surprised by the quality of this place. Italian cuisine is often imitated abroad, but here everything is authentic and delicious. You can tell they use top-quality ingredients and know authentic Italian recipes, especially those from Sicily. The highlight, however, is the chef: a fantastic person who leads a close-knit team. Everyone was incredibly kind, fast, and incredibly welcoming. You can tell they love their job and know how to pamper their customers. If you’re in the area to see Niagara Falls and want to eat well and feel at home, this is the place. Highly recommended for both the quality of the food and the location.

Came in for dinner with my siblings and we thought the food was pretty good, and my sisters loved the wine. The ravioli was listed as imported on the menu, which I took to mean that it’s sourced from Italy, and that is definitely a plus. My brother said the shrimp was the best he’s ever had, which says a lot considering shrimp scampi is one of his favorite meals.
That said, the menu is very small with probably no more than 25 items total (not including drinks). Due to this, it may not be the best spot for picky eaters. My sister, who actually loves Italian food, thought it was just okay. She didn’t love the ravioli, but I think someone who enjoys cheese might feel differently. She also wanted the gnocchi but skipped it because it had veal in it. One thing worth noting is that it may be tough for vegetarians or vegans, since several dishes that typically don’t contain meat, contain meat.
My brother really liked it but was surprised how little the waitress knew about the menu, my sister felt neutral, and I’d say it’s a good spot if you’re not picky and appreciate a smaller menu or enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Tried Blue Cave for my birthday and so glad we did! The service was great, we were greeted with a smile and everyone was very friendly when we walked in the door. Our appetizer was delicious, fresh, and light and the presentation was beautiful. The braised short ribs were very flavorful and my husband said he could drink the gravy. The Mediterranean sea bass was everything I was hoping for and more. So buttery and flakey. We will be back again very soon. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!

The menu looked so amazing that we struggled to just pick one item. We ended up ordering multiple dishes and just putting it all in the middle and eating from each plate.
The food was incredible and our server MJ was amazing as well.
Absolutely worth it and would recommend.

As a resident of the Village of Lewiston, I’ll keep this simple: I know what real Italian food tastes like. I spent a part of my life living in Italy—not visiting, living—and Blue Cave gets it right.
Chef Mario Bianca, hailing from Sicily, brings genuine regional integrity to the menu. This isn’t generic “red sauce” Italian—it’s thoughtful, rooted, and confident. Dishes like the Polpo Grigliato, Pasta alla Norma, Braciole, and Salmon in Crosta reflect both Sicilian heritage and broader Italian tradition, executed with restraint and respect for the ingredients.
The flavors are clean, balanced, and unmistakably authentic. No shortcuts. No overcomplication. Just excellent food made by someone who knows exactly what he’s doing.
Blue Cave is a fantastic addition to the Village of Lewiston—and if you don’t live here, it’s absolutely worth the drive. This is the kind of place locals should be proud of.
Highly recommended.

Blue Cave moved out to Lewiston this year and since they were already established in Buffalo it was nice to see them hit the ground mostly running. The meal has always been good and the staff have gotten better as the months go on. There is a talented chef in this kitchen- the Branzino is always on point and we’ve had some really great salads and pasta dishes here too. The cocktail menu is seasonal and favorites include the Lychee martini this summer and the Blue gin martini that is currently on.
This location has always been beautiful no matter what restaurant occupies it and they’ve done a really nice job in making it classy while keeping the awesome bar in place.

We started the night with some yummy cocktails at the downstairs bar. Our dinner experience upstairs was excellent. Everything our party of four ordered was absolutely delicious & the portions were generous. Our waitress Olivia was attentive and helpful. We were surprised with an almond parfait with a candle to help us celebrate my husband’s birthday. Highly recommend for great authentic Italian cuisine.
