This is honestly the best food I have eaten in a very long time. Call for a reservation right now. Family owned and operated with local ingredients and an amazing revolving menu based on what is in season. The cream of mushroom was delicious, light, and seasoned perfectly. The lamb was amazing and cooked to perfection. It was a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Fresh baked, homemade rolls and bread. BYOB. I made a reservation before I walked out of the restaurant to ensure I could come back soon. Love it!

I was so looking forward to our dinner at Clifford’s but was left unimpressed.
We were greeted by the hostess who was so kind and welcoming! After seating us she went over a list of the available specials, all from memory, and then left us with the menus. There were quite a few options and many sounded drool worthy.
Ultimately we ordered the raclette, the surf and turf (one with just the crab cake and one with crab cake and shrimp), the French onion soup, and a salad with beet dressing.
We ended up with three or four different types of bread to start and overall they were good. Two types were heavily salted but one in particular was super delicious.
The raclette came out fast but was lacking flavor. I loved the concept – potatoes, cheese, and pickles – but the execution just wasn’t there. The French onion soup was full of onion but overall lacked that French onion flavor. The salad was a basic salad but the dressing was good. A tad sweet for my liking but a fun option.
Up to this point the service was fine but our entrees took a really long time to come out. I’m not sure what the hold up there was. That said they came out piping hot and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had some kind of garlic butter on them which was good but also lacking something. The scalloped potatoes were cooked wonderfully but needed a stronger cheese flavor. The fresh broccoli and carrots were cooked very well and tasted good. The shrimp were overcooked, sadly. The crab cakes were the best thing on the plates – very good for restaurant crab cakes.
I wanted so much to love this meal after hearing neighbors and friends rave about the food but for us it missed the mark, especially considering the price.

What an amazing little cozy place. I heard great things from a friend and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is a mix of rustic and relaxing. The food was delicious with large portions, you won’t go hungry. Everyone was super friendly and answered all of our first time questions about the menu. It is BYOB with no corking fee. Don’t fill up on bread, even though it was so good, you’ll need room for everything else.

We had high expectations since getting a reservation is so difficult. Parking was free and plentiful. The restaurant is beautifully appointed. We were seated immediately and given menus. Entree prices ranged from $36-56. The hostess was nice and returned to the table to describe a long list of specials that were hard to remember. There were as many specials as there were items on the menu. It would have been helpful if the specials were presented in writing. The server was sweet. Bread was served immediately and was delicious. I ordered a bone-in pork chop special and my spouse ordered baked cod. The pork chop was served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The food was average at best – not bad but certainly didn’t blow us away. The price for my pork chop was $56 and somewhat of a surprise since it was $20 more than the boneless pork chop on the menu. For us, Clifford’s didn’t live up to its reputation . The food didn’t knock our socks off. It really wasn’t exceptional, as expected.

If I could give this restaurant more stars I would. Like most people, we’ve been waiting a while to get a reservation, and let me tell you the wait is worth it. The atmosphere is intimate and classic. The service is top notch. Our waitress was so friendly and so knowledgeable. She was attentive and quick when we needed anything. The food is outstanding. The specials really showcase the seasonal vegetables and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The cucumber vinegarette dressing is a slam dunk! One of the best dressing is I’ve ever had. We will for sure be back!

Clifford’s is considered by many as the best quality food in the area. It isn’t inexpensive, but is consistently excellent. Reservations are mandatory and most often booked 6+ months in advance.

Absolute first class experience as usual at Cliffords. One of the best – if not the best – fine dining restaurants in Western PA. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Sherry Cream Sauce were fabulous as always. The staff is awesome and very accommodating. The menu is much more extensive than is posted on their website and they will cater to just about any request.
