We walked into Zee’s & were greeted so warmly! These folks are actually happy to see you & anxious to serve you. How refreshing! My husband & I each ordered meat & 2 sides & a drink. At first I thought the bill ($37) with tax & tip was awfully high for lunch, but after review, the meat & 2 is $12 & drinks are a little less than $3–so really not so bad for good hearty food. The fried chicken was delicious, mashed potatoes & gravy were perfect, collards were quite tasty, Mac & cheese was baked & good. And the food was hot! We were too full for dessert, but some ladies behind us skipped the meal & got desserts only & raved about them! Lemonade & sweet tea were both delicious. Check their FB entry daily for menu.

A Pescatarian’s Review: Firstly, the customer service was outstanding. My husband and I visited the day before Easter and the place was festive. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken. However, I would better classify the quality of the food here as southern instead of soul food. Southern food may be a bit more palatable to the majority, as it tends to be much lighter in seasoning.

Had the beef tips, greens, and limas. Spouse had the fried chicken. All were good. Service was good although they tend to run out of food toward closing time. We’ve had the Mac and cheese before which was good too

Today was my first visit to Zee’s after hearing my girlfriend rave about the food. I ordered the mac& cheese , rutabagas and fried chicken. The food was exceptional in look and taste, especially the rutabagas. The only thing I would give a was the basically empty pans on the warmer. I asked if I could have a fresh serving of mac& cheese and the young lady promptly brought out a fresh pan. When it comes to food and for me appearance is everything. I didn’t meet the owners but they were pointed out to me by the young lady at the register in fact the female who was part owner was standing at the register when I was checking out, I made a goodwill gesture to her in welcoming them to the community and telling her the food looks good but I didn’t feel that she was receptive to my compliment and I’m not sure if it was because I asked for fresh macaroni. In fact the gentlemen who I was told was also the owner came up as I was checking out and asked “What’s the problem” I said no problem i just asked for fresh mac&cheese but he never actually greeted me. I wasn’t being picky the pan was empty and what was left in the pan was swimming in butter. Btw the mac&cheese was delicious also. Overall I would give this restaurant an A+ and I believe in the foreseeable future they will need a larger space because the place was packed for lunch and that’s great in the restaurant business! The fried chicken was fantastic!!! Nice and crispy,but juicy on the inside. It was full of flavor! The field peas were delicious with onion and bacon. I highly recommend this place, when only soul food will hit the spot!!!

I finally made it, to try this place and Good Lord this hit the spot! I got collards, macaroni, and fried chicken. Every bit was perfectly cooked, well flavored, and good portions. I am ready for a nap! I will obviously be back!! Thank you to the precious staff and cooks!

On my first attempt to eat here, ( 3 months ago) I walked in at 615pm and no greeted me. Then finally after standing there 2minutes, a young woman at register informed me they were out of food. The sign on door says they close at 8pm. I’m sorry, but I’ve never had this experience before at a restaurant.
Today I stopped in to give it another try. It was closed again at 6pm.
Suggestion to owner, if you are closing at 6pm. Please change the sign on the door. Will someone please tell me hours of operation for this place.
I wish that I could have experienced what the others are raving about.

This was my first viait and it about 2:30 pm. The customer service was great. I heard good things. I orderd two plates of fried chicken, dressing, lima beans mac cheese and collard green. I was not pleased. However I will give them another try maybe earlier in day. I really want to support them
