Well, my trip today to Lucky Street turned into quite an adventure. Not because of anything they did wrong, but because of my own incompetence.

I arrived at the restaurant shortly after noon. It was quiet other than some modern music quietly playing in the background and the normal noise of a busy kitchen faintly across the room. The restaurant was clean with lovely decore.

I sat by the window and my server, Jimmy, provided some of his favorites as some great options. He also reviewed the upcoming menu changes and how they are lowering prices while their competitors are raising them. The new menu should be available about a week or so from today’s post on 10/4/25.

As soon as I saw Pho on the menu, I knew I had to try it. I was quickly served an ice cold soft drink while my feast was prepared. Jimmy brought me out fresh lentils and the usual garnishment. The plate was heaping and all of the vegetables were very fresh. Next, Jimmy tip-toed across the room with a bowl so full, one person couldn’t possibly eat it all.
My first bite was like a little slice of heaven. The noodles were perfect and the the beef tender and flavorful. The broth was salty and the perfect amount of Sriracha and extras makes all the difference.

Half-way through my meal I was already stuffed. As is custom, I left a healthy portion for the chef. Then I got to the counter to pay my tab and realized I forgot to ask if they took Google pay. They don’t have that service yet, so I had an interesting time paying for my meal, but we got it settled. I appreciated their understanding and willingness to cooperate while I fixed my blunder. Check them out on DoorDash if you don’t mind paying a little extra, or order in person, like I did. This cute little shop under new ownership is a great spot for an intimate date night or even just a quiet meal alone.

I’ve been coming here for years, and when it comes down to Thai food in the area, it is hard to beat!

You have to try their Thai fried rice with the Chinese sausages. Definitely one of my go-tos! The portions are very generous, the staff is very accommodating, and overall, this is a great experience if you’re looking to have a nice lunch or quick grab atmosphere. And it’s located in a relatively quiet strip so if you want some peace while you’re dining, this is a great stop.

I also like their crying tiger beef. I don’t know if this is still in the menu, but if it is, still recommend it!

The food was delicious! I couldn’t make up my mind, so the server recommended the chef’s special, which was absolutely delicious! Also they have the best version of the crunchy roll I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back!

Honestly some of the best Thai food I have ever had, especially in MN. I have been a loyal Sawatdee guy for many years, but this place is amazing, and the flavor is popping! I cannot see how anyone would give the food less than 5 stars. Andy over there is great- and very helpful with service. Very generous takeout servings, lots of tasty leftovers to eat.

I was blown away by my experience with Andee Ly and his team at Lucky Street. I had a dinner party at my place for a parent’s birthday and Andee excelled and rose above the bar to make the whole experience fabulous. Though the restaurant is closed on Mondays he personally came in with a chef and prepared a delicious meal and then came to deliver it and brought it up to my kitchen.
The food was mouthwatering and the generosity of his servings ensured that I have just the right amount of leftovers, with my guests also taking a favorite dish home.

Thanks Andee and Lucky street for helping me give a great party.

We are very happy and grateful!

This place is my ultimate most favorite place to go to for Thai food!!! I love everything on the menu. You can’t go wrong. From the Tom yum soup to the red curry. The pad see ew is to die for, worth every penny. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff goes above and beyond!!!

I will go back again. For sure will be bringing and recommending to all my friends!!! I already want to go back.

When you walk in, you’ll instantly realize this place is much too nice to be in a strip mall. I love the fun paintings on the wall and the many bulb lights. The service here is great too. There were many people in line for door dash and takeout, so being served took a little longer than normal. Still, our waitress was incredibly sweet, even with a baby in our party acting up. The edamame was good (not much to say about soybeans), and the sauté was great with the peanut sauce. I had the dragon slayer sushi roll, which had my favorite combo: unagi (eel), salmon, and avocado. Needless to say, it was delicious. The pad Thai was also great, and so was the chicken fried rice. I see no reason anyone wouldn’t enjoy it here. I wish more people ate in, as they have fun music and it could be a lively atmosphere. Granted, I ate on a Tuesday night. Final conclusion: definitely come here if you’re in the local area, and dine-in if you can!

I was very surprised how much this place went down hill since Lisa, the old owner, sold it.
First impression as we walked in was that all the floors in the dining room were sticky (bad indicator of management’s attitude towards cleaning). Next, there were restaurant supplies piled up in several corners of the dining area and on the sushi station, and dangling wires from every electronic device including the giant TV which got turned on to Zac Efron’s 17 Again, a subtitled HBO movie, apparently for the employees enjoyment.
We were initially the only people in the dining room and the wait we uncomfortably long. A second group of 4 sat down, and after quite some time walked over to us to know if we had been waited on.
A line of take out orders started to form and it became apparent they were completely untrained, unsupervised and unprepared.
One lady stood waiting for 40 minutes to pick up her phone order.
Food: The sushi rolls came first and were ok. We had to ask for soy sauce and they brought a big bowl of thick soy glaze. He had no idea.
Next up was Nigiri Salmon which tasted bad and we left it. Drunken noodles had good base flavor but were a bit in the “Thai Hot” category.
Bottom line: Management needs to tighten up the ship or they will go out of business.
