My wife and I had a good experience here. We ate in and it was peaceful, we werent being hovered over nor being ignored or ill attended. The food was good, nothing absolutely mind blowing but good, and the sushi the same. The sauces seemed to be a little bland and if you like spicy stuff, well they only have siracha (no home made hot sauces). I put a 4 on food cause it couldve been hotter. The soup was warm, wish it was hot and presented a little steam, as well as the food. All of it was luke warm, nothing came out with steam from the heat but it all tastes good.

I started coming here 2 years ago and frequented this location at least once a week – they’re lunchtime chicken katsu box is fantastic! Unfortunately in this last year I have experienced such a drop in quality sushi that I only “give it a try” once every couple of months, and I always regret giving them another try. Tonight was the last time, I found a smooshed insect in my avocado and, per the usual, the avocado was brown. They clearly missed the insect and the little black hair (I’m a Blondie theough and through), what is even more upsetting is they chose to use rotted avocado – and it’s not the first time. The miso soup consistently has an old boiled sock taste, and idk if they are rolling rolls at 5 am and hoping they sell but the spicy tuna roll was hard, like maybe it didn’t properly defrost or something, idk? Overall just disappointing.

Anyways, I feel like they have affordable prices but it’s because they no longer use fresh ingredients. The fish is too fishy, the avocado is always tinted brown, and the miso soup always tastes old. I no longer recommend this restaurant for sushi. Bummer because I had such amazing sushi from them “back in the day”. I do recommend the Green Papaya sushi restaurant down by I-295. Sorry guys.

I came here with my daughter for her birthday. She wanted sushi and our regular restaurant (closer to our home) was closed. Because it was her birthday, I had to make ends meet. This place probably had the BEST hibachi in Jax! I was so surprised! The hibachi was so amazing I didn’t even want to try their sushi! lol! My daughter loved her sushi, but their hibachi was amazinggggggg!!!!

Staff very sensitive to people with gluten and peanut allergies. They checked when they didn’t know and showed it to me to give me piece of mind. Food top tier Japanese. Staff is wonderful. Love the cozy feel. Definitely will be a returning customer!

The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best sushi I’ve had. I had Midori sushi. Unfortunately, the cook wasn’t available right away so I got my food way before my husband. The kids of the employees had a booth of their own. They didn’t bother us but one kid did have his music up in his game. I don’t think we’ll dine in again but I will get take out. The sushi was very, very good. My husband said his food was good but didn’t like the rice much.

Ordered meal hour in advance not ready when I got there. Forgot to tell them on the shrimp steak combo no onions. Well suffice to say it was mostly onions for vegetables. Hardly any broccoli or carrots. Not much steak or shrimp for the price.

Really good, moved the bento box. Service was amazing and the atmosphere could not be more FRIENDLY.

Okay, but the food:

Miso Soup – for some reason I did not like it.
Salad – ginger dressing was on point, they did not mind changing out my soup for this yummy salad.
Bento box items:
California Roll – delicious
Gyoza – kind of a miss with me texture wise, but the flavors were good
Vegetable Tempura – really good, light batter enhanced the flavor. I could have used more of this.
Shrimp Tempura – really well done, good flavor

I enjoyed it here and my friend swapped out a few things without problem, which I want to try next time.

And there will be a next time.

The food was good, and mostly well presented. We went on a Wednesday evening, and there were 2 other tables besides the 2 of us. Chef was on his cell phone almost the whole time we were there. I asked the waitress about quail eggs, she informed me they used to carry them because people from the “rich” neighborhoods knew how to eat, and they always asked for them, ..but those people didn’t come in anymore. Odd response, but whatever. She was not very attentive to our empty glasses, either. All in all, the food was good, but I was unimpressed with everything else. Clean, at least. We were presented with our check before she even asked if we wanted anything else, or dessert, and when I asked for fried ice cream, I was told the freezer wasn’t working. Bathrooms clean.
