If you like New Orleans and southern food this is the place to go. The owner “Yvonne Shepherd ” is the cook and her husband “Alfred” is your waiter. Awesome service, food was amazing and beautiful jazz music. The seafood gumbo is to truly unique and delicious. The smothered fried porkchop with rice was like my grandmother use to make. It’s a hole in the wall and off the beaten path but worth the trip.

We had crab legs, sausage, fried shrimp, fried okra, mac&cheese, and hush puppies. It was all delicious. The owners were nice and friendly. I didn’t try it, the gumbo must be the stuff, because 5 people came in to order it. It wasn’t done yet, so each one of them said they would be back in 1-1.5hrs to pick some up. Maybe next time.

The food was good, hot, homade, and fresh. The service was great, they were even willing to stay opened later so I could eat in. The grits, cabbage were the best I’ve had in awhile. The catfish was good, until I reached the middle, and noticed it was a little undone. The mac and cheese was so horrible, I threw it in the garbage. Overall, I’d go again if in town, but I’d check my fish before leaving.

My husband and I ate here 3 weeks ago from Denver, while we were in town to close on our new house. I wanted seafood and cajun and found them on Google. My brother in law and his wife came with us and we were all blown away! The service and the food was AMAZING and yes, it takes a min for you to get your food but soo worth it! We hung out and talked with the owners, a HUGE added bonus as they were so kind…we didn’t know they were actually closed when we showed up and they never said a word about it. My family and I left feeling like family…oh and I’m gonna need that butter recipe that’s all over the seafood platter. My kids are in Florida now and I can’t wait to bring them in after Christmas!!!

The food here was delicious and the family was super nice. We had gumbo, catfish, crawfish, shrimp, fries, mac n cheese, and corn. Then red velvet cake and banana cheesecake. We ate every bite and wanted more but we were too full! We’ll definitely be back to try out the other options

Today I went for my second time to this place and i can say the people are very nice and they have their daughter or granddaughter helping out that is awesome with the customer service and is the only reason she the restaurant is getting 2 stars. The first time I went to the restaurant it took forever to bring out the food (fish and chips and catfish nuggets) which I prepared for (or thought I prepared for) by calling ahead. On the phone they said 15 minutes which was fine because I was going to drive there, but to make the story short i called at 5:40pm and got my food (fish and chips, fried shrimp, and catfish nuggets) at 6:35pm almost an hr for fried food. The shrimp were fresh but they only came out with 7 shrimps (after it took them forever to bring out the food they forgot 1 shrimp) which i thought maybe they will come out with a couple more or give something away due to the wait. I WAS WRONG!!! They put in the frying basket 1 shrimp and brought out 1 shrimp. Lol. Anyways bottom line the shrimp tasted fresh but in some parts under seasoned and some parts over seasoned. Unfortunately they lost a customer because they take wayyyyy too loooooong. If you plan on eating here call way in advance at least 35-40 minutes.
