The food was great. We all got delicious old fashioneds! The garbage bucket, morel burgers, and fish fry were some of the favorites among our group! One of my friends also asked for horseradish sauce – the waitress said they didn’t have any, but then the head cook was kind enough TO MAKE IT FROM SCRATCH! Very hospitable!
Speaking of service – I came here with my bachelor party; there were 15 of us. My brother called ahead to make sure it was ok weeks in advance. Before we even got our orders taken, the head waitress came in to belittle us and make sure she would “string us up in our cute little Hawaiian shirts” if we had left a mess or mistreated her staff.
Let me be clear – we are all a bunch of nervous nerds who gave no inclination we would leave a mess, or mistreat the staff. We say our please and thank you and we all love our mommas. TO BE CLEAR they had a waitress walk out just before we left – but that still gave us a less than pleasant experience when it comes to service.
I would still love to come back, but hope they are kinder to the locals and was just mistreating us because we were a bunch of out of towners.

I normally don’t give poor reviews, but as a former server/bartender, my experience wasn’t great. It was my first time there and our server informed us she was also the cook. She was pleasant enough considering how stressed she was. The food was came out hot and fresh, which was great. My issue was with the bartender. After we paid for lunch, we went to the bar area and I stood there for about 5 minutes, cash in hand, wanting a single beer. It was not busy. I stood in the mid-section of the bar, having 3-4 empty seats on either side. She didn’t say hello, acknowledge my presence whatsoever, and kept giving me the side-eye. She intermittently carried on a conversation with another patron and got another beer for a regular. Eventually, MY SERVER asked if I needed help. The bartender was rude, appeared insecure, and was not willing to say “hi” or “I’ll be with you shortly.” She WASN’T BUSY. Customers show up to enjoy an experience, mostly with the people they arrived with. They are NOT there to listen to staff complain about the other patrons, or blatantly be ignored. Your bartender was literally THE WORST female bartender I have ever encountered. I’m a big tipper, I was a bartender for decades. Her poor attitude is costing herself and your business. Should I ever find myself in that town again, I will go anywhere else.
