After Indian, Mediterranean is my second favorite cuisine.

What a crazy traffic it was… it actually took me 65 minutes to reach there. And of course, finding parking right in front of Penn Station? I guess I can find God more easily than a parking spot there…

I ended up keeping my car on standby — luckily, the guard at the door didn’t mind. I originally planned to dine in, but the parking situation made me pack my food instead.

Coming to the food — the place is on the 2nd floor of the building, with really nice décor and ambience. I honestly wish I could have sat down to enjoy my meal there.

I ordered the Chicken & Salmon Bowl with fries on the side.

the food was awesome! The salmon was the absolute showstopper — perfectly cooked and topped with olives, feta, tzatziki, TGP sauce, Greek slaw, and more. The chicken was good too, but the salmon definitely stole the show.

I just wish they had an outlet in Morris County too… all their locations are a bit too far!

I tried Gyro Project’s Newark location yesterday. First I will share about food- we love Greek food snd Gyro Project has great options if you want wrap, bowl or salad snd many other lighter options too like dips/pita, bakery items etc. I got the bowl, pita wrap and few other items. The food tasted delicious and fresh. But, I left with such a bad experience from the staff/manager. The service sucks. The way they talked or behaved is just uncalled for. I was very disappointed. Either they need training as to how to serve people or they should be let go.

Btw we have tried Gyro Project in Fort Lee before this location opened up, the staff was beyond amazing both times at Fort Lee. Unfortunately, I would not be going to Newark location. Not worth my time and money.

3 stars are only for the food.

Located in the walkway of the Gateway Center, the Greek version of Chipotle or Qdoba, same concept of pick your protein, pick your veggies, pick your sauces, good stuff, helpful staff, canned Coke products.
(Salmon was extra $, but staff let me know as soon as I asked for it)

Excellent healthy food option at a reasonable downtown price.

Tried a Gyro bowl and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the size and taste of the food.

Quaint Cafe look to the dining area.

Look forward to trying another bowl in the future.

nice new vibrant spot in the gateway building.
I was hesitant for a long time to try it , now I can’t believe it took me so long. The food here is very savory. Love it. Definitely will be spending more of my lunch hours here.

The rating is based on the price change, doesn’t really feel worth it anymore. With an additional limit on toppings, (limit 2) overall raise in price and an extra charge on toppings $18+ for a bowl doesn’t feel like a bargain, for that price I can go to the other restaurants at the Gateway.

The Gyro Project’s new Newark location is amazing! I loved their Fort Lee spot, but this one has truly won me over. The food is fast, fresh, and packed with flavor—perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. Everything is top-notch. The service is quick, and the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. This is definitely my new go-to spot for Mediterranean eats in Newark!

I just left about 10 mins ago, and not only is the food delicious but the customer service is AMAZING! I work in the Hospitality/Restaurant industry, and I’ve seen great service from many places but the atmosphere here was so warm. And I don’t know that name of the lady but she was so nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I even asked for a recommendation on toppings and told me that the Spicy Feta is her favorite, and now it’s mine! Her service is going to take her so far. Please tell her how much I appreciate her!

I was just passing through when I noticed this gem that had just opened in the station. I was very satisfied with my order and with every bite I couldn’t help but think that it has been a while since I enjoyed Greek food this good. The gyro project is a must visit for anyone seeking a culinary escape to the Mediterranean with its craving authentic Greek flavors. Will definitely be coming back!

Just opened, food is very tasty but the menu is confusing. Can only have so many items or select items, not clear. Also the desserts jumped from a very reasonable price to $9+ for many items a few days after opening. Thats just outside the realm of a reasonable add on. They need to revisit the add on prices, $9 for a 2 inch square orange cake is not reasonable. Overall willing to give them time to workout the kinks.
