My wife and I celebrated or 23rd anniversary weekend here. Food was excellent, everything tasted great and portions were huge. Buffet sat night offered a wide selection and event was fresh and delicious. Breakfast was also amazing! Downside is you will overeat! Music during dinner was also very nice. The room was fine but needs updating. In room fireplace and huge jacuzzi were great!

Food was good and Jacuzzi was huge. Loved all the mirrors around the jacuzzi. Staff was very friendly. Room has a smell and, water comes out brown when you turn it on. Had to go get candles, air fresheners and Lysol wipes. Whole room needs to be renovated. No WiFi or service out there. I made the best of my stay but, I wouldn’t go back unless they renovate.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Mt Haven for Thanksgiving dinner this year. We have stayed at the resort several times in the past and have always enjoyed ourselves. I’m sad to say that we were extremely disappointed with our Thanksgiving choice this year. The food was good but it was overly crowded, the lines were very, very long with one line leading to both the deserts and main meal. The food area was crammed filled with food and people which made it very uncomfortable. You had staff bringing out desserts and food literally bumping into and hitting people with their huge trays. You could barely move. I would have gone up for more turkey and some other things but I didn’t want to wait in another long line. They also served water in 6 oz plastic glasses, I had to ask several times for more water please. I’m sure with a little restructuring and some minor changes things could have been a lot nicer for everyone. After my experience today I will never ever go out for dinner on Thanksgiving again.

Motel room had been recently flooded and had mold and mildew growing under the carpet, behind furniture and in cracks of the tile in the walls and bathroom. There were three air fresheners in the room to hide the musty odor, and the window was left cracked open to let the mold smell dissipate. The mold caused an allergic response in one room occupant and throat irritation in another. Management denied any problem and refused to cancel the remainder of the reservation or offer any refund or compensation. When guests asked to speak to the motel office for a resolution the restaurant manager (Andy) said they were closed and there was nothing that could be done. He became agitated and raised his voice even though the guests remained calm and patient. He took a phone number for follow up from a manager, which never came. The guests followed up by phone and email at which time the motel manager (Andrea Filone) verbally and in writing (email) agreed to cooperate with a refund, but would not provide a receipt and a refund was never processed after 15 business days. When guests followed up she denied any problem and refused to cooperate further. This business is dishonest. The other reviews about facilities in disrepair, poor service and misleading photos on the resort website are all true. It seems as though any of the overly positive reviews are fabricated by the resort.

My partner and i had dinner at the Mt. Haven last night at the suggestion of a friend. We were seated quickly, but after that it just went down hill, although the restaurant was half empty the seated us in a back corner. We each ordered a glass of wine which took twenty minutes to reach our table. We both ordered the Italian buffet for dinner, which offered salad, dinner, and dessert. The food was not good, brown lettuces at the salad bar, food that was dried out and had been sitting for a while, stale bread, and at the pasta bar the pasta was cold and over cooked. Our waitress disappeared and we did not see her again until she brought our check. Never again

Great location, quiet area… Close to some beautiful waterfalls. Milford is a small but beautiful town. Mount Haven – kinda old: the cottages furniture and the way they deal with you. It seems like they first had the restaurant/catering business, then they decided to add some cottages and stuff; no “How was your stay?” or anything, “check-in” desk is in the restaurant, no computers/internet connection. We DID NOT have any problems, thank God (I saw some bad reviews), even though the room looked old and smelled a little like cigarettes (!). We did not go for the week-end, but Monday-Wednesday, so $150 per night with all food included, not bad at all… $250 or whatever they charge for the week-ends, I don’t know if I would pay that. The food was very good and the server was nice at dinner, some items on the (free) salad bar looked old, but the sauces on the pasta bar are FRESH and they taste excellent.

I didn’t catch this news, and I am reeling at thought I won’t be able to go there anymore. I loved this place, I liked the stay, the food, the location, the people. I see some negative comments, and like anywhere, nothing is perfect. But this place had a special kindness to it, if somehow, you were too out of touch to experience it, then I guess you’ll never understand the true tragedy now that it is gone. Mt. Haven Resort was a very nice place to be. My memories are fond. 5 stars

My wife and I chose the Mt Haven Resort after researching the internet as a place to stay and enjoy for our anniversary and for our trip to the Pocono Race on Aug 4,2013. We originally made reservations for a Cabin and the V.I.P,Plan which included Breakfast and Dinner each day. Basically, this is what you are paying for(The Meals). The Cabin #1 was terrible. It was overgrown by trees and musty smelling. The wood floors were rotten, the Jacuzzi had two large cracks in it, the mirrors around the Jacuzzi were cracked and the bed was hard as a rock. Needless to say we spoke to the owner and they did move us to Villa 6. Villa 6 was a little better but not much. It looks nothing like the pictures on the internet which must have been taken in 1976 when the placed originally opened. The deck outside was rotten and dangerous. The cold water for the Jacuzzi came out muddy. The toilet was in a corner which looked like it was a closet. the shower stall was so small I thought I was back on a Navy ship. The full kitchen was hideous. The refrigerator was leaking water all over the floor when we arrived. This was because the door was basically broken in half and was taped back together and would not close properly. The service staff laid towels in the bottom of the fridge to soak up the water. The daily service to the accommodations was basically making the bed without changing the linens and folding the wet used towels and making it look like they were replaced with fresh towels. And they had the nerve to leave an envelope with ” Your Gratuity for the service staff is greatly appreciated” sitting on the living room table. I didn’t think so.There were two TV’s which had remote controls with dead batteries. Neither fireplace worked. There was no recliner in the living room and the bed in the bedroom was a mattress on a platform. Nothing like the pics on their website. The vanity mirror in the bathroom was hanging from two drywall screws and the vanity lights were falling off the wall. There were electrical outlet boxes exposed without face plates and the cord on the air conditioner was spliced to a different cord and electrical taped together. The water coming from the faucets had a strong sulfur smell. The place most likely runs on well water. The food in the restaurant was okay but definitely nothing to write home about. Especially since they advertise about the Italian cuisine and recipes past down from generations. Only Gina from the restaurant was the best waitress there that we experienced. The grounds around the cottages and villas were overtaken by weeds and growth. We were not very happy with our stay and would not recommend this place to others especially for the cost. A Hotel chain would have been 100 times better.

If you’re down to earth this place is for you. My boyfriend and i went 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. The cottage was clean and the food was amazing. We loved it so much we are going back this Sunday for 5 days.

Villa 8a was horrendous. A/C WAS not working, lights didn’t work, the tiles around the jacuzzi were cracked and the place smelled like rotten animals. The deck was rotted out the outside steps were disintegrated.
The owner, Andrew claimed the room wasn’t ready because we came before check in.. They told us we can be there at 12 instead of 2pm.
Are you kidding!! The room hasn’t been fixed in years. IT WAS TOTALLY FALLING DOWN. Don’t stay here, this place is hazardous.
