Hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever visited! We came for lunch and were blown away by the quality. The sashimi and sushi sets were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The lunch menu offers great variety and value. We are definitely coming back soon to work our way through the rest of the dishes!

The food is incredibly fresh, with every dish tasting superb and presented with impressive care and detail. The sashimi, in particular, was exceptional—beautifully sliced, vibrant, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth delicious.
We also tried the karaage, gyoza, and bento, and each dish was consistently excellent in both flavour and presentation. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen.
The staff were warm, attentive, and accommodating, adding to the overall comfortable dining experience. This place may be small, but it’s full of charm and culinary talent.
Highly recommend giving it a try—definitely a new favourite in the neighbourhood!

We visited Yui Japanese Restaurant on their very first day of opening in Putney. The restaurant was already very busy when we arrived, which is totally understandable for a new restaurant. Even with the rush, the team handled the situation really well and everything ran smoothly.
We ordered katsu don, karaage don, sashimi, fried tempura, and gyoza, and every dish was delicious. The gyoza was perfectly crispy with a really tasty filling. The chicken katsu was tender and soft, and the karaage was just as good — juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. The sashimi tasted very fresh, and the tempura was light, crispy, and very tasty.
Overall, everything we tried was delicious and tasted authentic. We honestly feel like we’ve found our new go-to Japanese restaurant and will definitely be coming back soon.
A special mention to Minhwa, who was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and provided excellent service that made the whole experience even better.
