Shelly’s Pizza is a staple of NEPA. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The staff is a crew of extremely polite and hardworking individuals. Even on busy Friday nights, they provide the best service. I decided to order a large pie in the middle of the dinner rush, and was met with a literally steaming hot box in a beyond acceptable amount of time. I have never and will never leave Shelly’s unsatisfied, and will always recommend it to anyone who asks me “where should we order pizza?”

Awesome pizza! The crust is thin and crisp, but also chewy. We order our pizza well done with sweet sauce. Sometimes we do add toppings. But it’s great plain. They’re almost always spot on with their pickup times. I love that they have their pickup window, which is very convenient. The employees are always very nice.

MUST HAVE PIZZA if you’re anywhere near by! We drive 9hrs once a year to enjoy the local pizza and Shelly’s is always a must, especially their pepperoni pizza!! I’ve been eating here for over 25 yrs (back when they were in the shopping center) and it’s been a favorite this whole time!! Never change!!

Shelly’s Pizza is absolutely delicious and easily one of my favorites in the area! Their sweet sauce is amazing and really sets them apart—it keeps me coming back again and again. I also love how convenient their drive-thru process is. The system with the number boards at the rear of the property makes it so easy to know when your pizza is ready, which is such a nice touch. Great food, great service, and a super smooth pickup experience—highly recommend!

First time here, won’t be my last. I got a large half sausage and half bacon with their sweet sauce. Now I’m normally not a crust person, it’s usually always thicker then the pizza. Well in this case the pizza was thin and I was able to enjoy the crust. To the employee who told me I will like this, I did not just like this, I loved this pizza to where you all got a 5 star across the board!

So i was told to try Shelly’s. I’ve had plenty of pizza in this area and from what everyone was saying, I was missing out by not coming here.
The Good: The service was spot on. Phone order was easy and the lady at the counter was very friendly. They only do take out and only pizza so the place was busy. I figured i was going to be in for a treat.
The Bad: The pizza was sub par. They cut it in like 12 slices, which was weird, but not a deal breaker. Got a large with pepperoni a
nd onions. The pizza was cooked fine but it didn’t taste good. The cheese tasted funny and even my 2 10 year olds were like we only at it because we were hungry.
I’m sorry but for all the hype, it did not meet my expectations.
I will not be going back.

Shelley’s Pizza, located on 273 Union Street in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, is a tiny, delivery and takeout only pizzeria that has been serving customers for 52 years. Although I have lived in the area off and on for almost 30 years, I never visited, and decided to rectify that matter on a Saturday evening.
After telephonically ordering our pizza, we arrived at Shelly’s shortly after 7:30. Although we parked our car in the small parking lot and went in, there is a drive-thru where customers can conveniently pick up their meals. As we entered, we were greeted by a friendly counter attendant who gave us our pizza and took our payment.
We ordered a large, 16” pizza, half with onions and large slices of pepperoni, and the other half with onions, mushrooms, and sweet peppers.The vegetables were plenty and diced. Although I don’t think the pizza was anything special, I can see the appeal from what appears to be a loyal customer base. It’s a neighborhood pizza joint offering a no-frills pie, with drinks pulled from a cooler located behind the counter.There are no gourmet-style offerings, just the nuts and bolts, which is perfect when looking for something that will satisfy the appetite. The pies also come in two additional sizes: Large (16”), medium (14”), and small (12”).
If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for something quick to take home, go ahead and try Shelley’s. After all, being established for over 50 years means something is being done right.

Pizza is incredible! We got the BBQ Chicken and plan to try the Buffalo Chicken Wing in the future. Definitely get your order in sooner rather than later. After 7 tries we finally got through. Reasonably priced and the pick up is a great idea. You get a number and wait in your car for the sign to show your number. Will definitely be back!
