I visited the new Mak Daddy location on 01/19/2026. Overall, my experience was pleasant. The sandwich was delicious, and while the drink was okay, the atmosphere stood out in a positive manner. The space is well laid out, with large tables that are especially convenient for students. There is ample room for laptops, textbooks, notebooks and even a tablet making it comfortable to study alone or with a partner.

One area that could use improvement is customer service. At checkout, the staff member assisting me was not particularly engaged. While she was not rude, she seemed uninterested, which affected the overall experience. What stood out most was that she was actively using her cellphone while checking me out. This felt unprofessional and detracted from what could have been a solid visit.

Additionally, multiple staff members frequently use their phones behind the counter. This raised concern for me from a sanitation standpoint, as it was not always clear that hands were washed after phone use before returning to work tasks. It is concerning from a customer’s perspective and impacted my overall comfort level.

As a minor additional note, the drinks feel overpriced for what is offered. The cups are very basic, with no branding or indicators that reflect the cost, which may contribute to my perception.

I provided this feedback with the intention of being constructive, as the location itself has demonstrated a lot of potential.

The new location is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is calming yet exciting. The employees are wonderful. Michael playing with my niece is the cutest thing. Coffee and food are excellent.

Hot coffee was warm. Iced quad shot over ice with cream was a breve mocha??? Not sure how the 2 coffee order was so messed up. It also took nearly 15 min to get our drinks with only 2 other people inside when we arrived. Should have got a refund but I didnt want to spend more time than we already had for such a simple order.

Great atmosphere and location. As a lover of actual coffee flavor I found the drink I ordered way too sweet. I’d recommend asking for like 1/4 sweetness because you can always add. Staff was great and remade my drink, but I hate to waste. After all the sweetness was gone I still found it a bit watery and mediocre. Still on the hunt for the best coffee in Yakima.

Over all it was nice. We’re not from here so I don’t know what the comparison is. But we got avocado toast (boujie and regular) and a London fog. The bread was boring and there was hardly any avocado in the avocado toast. If you’re going to charge what you are, you need to put more of its namesake on it. And the London fog tasted more like warm vanilla milk cause they only steeped it for about a minute or two. Every place I’ve ever gone to leaves the tea bag in for us to decided.
But the people were really friendly, the atmosphere was cozy (albeit super burnt smelly on the day we went). Nice fireplace to chill by, big windows. It’s cool.

One of those can’t miss downtown coffee shops. Have to give this place a five star review after a quick visit in Yakima.

Walked in right behind a man who greeted the staff by name and was in turn greeted by name. They knew his order and nearly had it ready before he arrived.

The space is super neat. Upstairs has ample seating, but if it’s packed, there’s a basement with plenty of tables to work or game.

I got the cold brew and a breakfast burrito. Can’t beat the prices. Cold brew is a bit on the coffee-er side (not a bad thing), so if you like mellow, just get an extra pump of syrup.

Breakfast burrito is one of the best I’ve had. Torta like crispy shell with a perfect balance of egg, chorizo, and cheese. I only wish I would’ve asked for salsa.

I don’t know what kind of wizard training Kati the barista went through, but the coffee she handed me should probably come with a warning label. One sip and I immediately reconsidered every bad life choice I’ve ever made. She created a liquid hug in with a caffeine kick! Amazing

10/10. Highly recommend. We will be back!

The decor in the shop is really neat and gives the space a great laid back feel to it, which is what you want when you want to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, my latte was kind of a let down both in flavor and output. I ordered it iced, but got it hot. The flavor tasted off. As for the cinnamon roll, I don’t recommend heating it up like I did, because it ruins the bread and just makes it taste terrible. The heating was not their fault. They seem to be a popular choice in town, so if I’m ever in town I’ll give them a second try.

Coffee was fine once strange ingredients were removed (why is black pepper in coffee) but the bagel was disappointment personified. Overtoasted/burnt bagel, underwhelmingly small sausage patty comparatively, basic overcooked cheese and I think egg existed on this sandwhich but I cannot tell you what was done to it.
