Visiting from Spain and had the pleasure of dining at Velveteen last night. From start to finish, the service, food, and overall experience was fantastic. The wine pairings were playful and creative, and the dishes themselves were wonderfully executed.

Despite the truly luxe experience, the ambiance is comfortable and cozy – the perfect spot for a date or a fun night out with friends. I can’t wait to see what menu they have the next time I visit. Thank you for an amazing evening!

3/15/2025: We were super excited to see the Yellowstone tasting menu for March. With all the different wild meats we had to try it.

The space itself is beautifully laid out, high ceilings, muted lighting, lovely seating. Service is impeccable. There were a total of about 16-20 of dining that evening with 2 staff 1 server/1 busser). All the dishes were fabulous. Cocktails were balanced and very good. The wine pairing was spot on. Our only disappointment was that the deer and elk were from New Zealand. Absolutely nothing wrong with that except for the fact that the tasting menu was called Yellowstone and we were looking forward to US elk since the flavor can vary by regions.

Overall this was a wonderful experience and I would certainly door a future tasting. Overall tab includes service charge and tax. Our total tab was about $678.

The whole dining experience was lovely. They did an excellent job with the wine pairing. I highly recommend adding it on. Jacob was very knowledgeable about each dish and wine. He did a wonderful job explaining everything as it came. The food was some of the best we have ever had. We will absolutely drive back up to dine here again.

What an incredible experience! We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of Velveteen. We enjoyed every bite of the October menu, including delicious fresh oysters and martinis made to order. The restaurant is stunning inside, and our table was beautifully set. Every dish was a work of art and our waiter described the ingredients and preparation of dishes, which was fun to learn and added to the experience of tasting everything. I loved how there were ingredients you likely never would have thought to combine, like tangerine and beets, which surprisingly compliment each other really well! For someone who doesn’t typically care for beets, I loved it! One thing that may surprise people is the experience lasts a few hours, but it was great to have time between each course for conversation (which mostly centered around the food!) and enjoy the atmosphere – enjoy every minute!

I can’t WAIT to come back again!

I absolutely loved everything about The Velveteen Rabbit! From the moment we were greeted at the door to the last bite of the most delicious dessert I have ever had – start to finish…..incredible. The creativity, presentation, quality and outstanding wine pairings (did you know they have a sommelier?) made for a very memorable, special evening. I cant wait to go back!

Thank you to the Velveteen staff for another incredible experience. Not only was every course exceptional in showcasing the chef’s talent and love for sharing her creations with guests, but the staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and personable. Looking forward to our next unique food experience.

Velveteen is a singular experience in Wenatchee. The multi-course themed meal is pure artistry and the wine pairings well manicured, not just good pairings but with commentary about the origins, selection, and of course the pairing notes. Our meal theme was “Seven Deadly Sins” and the seven courses were imaginative and novel. Antelope tartar? Where do you get that? Chestnut soup with bread pudding? More please. It’s a splurge but for a 3.5 hour culinary experience well worth it. Probably not something you’d do every week but once or twice a year or special occasion, absolutely. Jacob the waiter/maitre’d/wine steward is knowledgeable, personable and funny. An all around amazing experience.

Such a fantastic night! My husband and I got to enjoy the opening months menu at Velveteen. When you step behind the curtain in to the restaurant the decor is beautiful. The plush velvet banquette was very comfortable, the tables were perfectly set, the lighting was perfect for date night, and our server was friendly but not intrusive. We started out with superb cocktails and the food was delicious with fantastic wine pairings. I love when I get to find a new wine I enjoy and managed to do just that with the Tavel that they had paired with the cauliflower bisque. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough and hope to return later this year!

A culinary adventure! Seven exquisite small courses, each one a work of edible art. February’s theme was “A Night in New Orleans” and we began with a fresh oyster topped with crab, next a savory artichoke beignet, then a gumbo with alligator andouille sausage, then an amazing spinach salad with Tasso ham, then a stuffed quail breast. An intermezzo of cherry and red wine ice was followed by an incredible beef tenderloin and Gruyère scalloped potatoes. Dessert was a twist on bananas Foster. These descriptions are woefully light on detail: read their monthly menus on the website!

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the service attentive but not overbearing, and the pacing is suited to a convivial experience with friends and loved ones. We were presented with each course and an explanation of its ingredients and preparation (sometimes by Chef Kim herself!), enjoyed the small artful bites, then our plates were cleared and a short time later the next course arrived. We arrived around 6:30 and left at 9. This is not fast food, nor a gut stuffing meal. It’s is truly a culinary adventure, the likes of which has never before graced our lovely small town.

We wish Chef Kim all the best, and encourage anyone reading this to make a reservation and experience Kim’s magic for themselves!

Excellent food and memorable experience. Server was professional (laying your napkin in your lap level) and Chef Kim came out to greet us during our dinner. My Wife doesn’t normally eat Italian food (it was Italian inspired cuisine the night we came) due to garlic and onion allergies but wanted to try it. We reached out to Chef Kim some days prior prior who was able to accommodate to my Wife’s allergens and provided a modified Italian course experience just for her; my Wife ended up really enjoyed the food! Not sure how Chef Kim did it, but she managed to create delicious Italian food without garlic and onion. Talented Chef. Worth the premium price IMO.
