We were told this place has the best fish & chips out there. So we stopped by for a lunch time meal. My girl friend & I shared a 3 piece with fries. This was just the right amount of food for the two of us. The fish was honesty the best fish I have ever eaten! It was fried to perfection not over done, the halibut was moist sand the batter crispy not . The most facilitating thing was the fish were not greasy, & didn’t leave your hands or fingers oily. The fries were also seasoned just right sand the tartar sauce was even delicious. The place is super clean sand the staff was very friendly! There is parking as most the orders were to go.

This is one of those places with huge potential as I have driven by many times wondering if it was worth stopping in solely because the outside was poorly maintained. The decision was made to stop in, and upon entry, we noted that the interior looked much better than the exterior. I ordered the fish and chips. The service was quick and friendly, and the meal was ready in 5 minutes. I picked up the meal from the order counter and brought it to our table. The fish looked appetizing, and I dug in. Indeed, the fish was fresh, batter crunchy though too thick. The krinkle fries tasted like home fries, not as crispy as expected. The tartar sauce is better than average. Pricing is at the market, and the business was clean and full of patrons. Limited parking and I saw many cars talking 2 parking spots… that may be because they were too narrow. There is no ADA parking.

I tried the Three-Piece halibut and chips on Tuesday and they were extremely hot which was nice but the fish was gummy in that I expect that it was reheated unfortunately. I will give them a second chance in that I think they can improve. The building was dated but clean.

I have read a lot of hype about Cap’n Yoby’s and I’ll just say, it is well deserved hype. The portions are good size, the fish was great. My kid had the big mama burger and he loved it. Very good food, and awesome staff!

The older building has character. Was not busy at the time we came in. The drive through seams more regular than the dining room.
We ordered 2 4pc Alaskan Cod meals. Which comes with fries, 2 tarter sauce small PC cups and a small PC cup of ketchup. 2 medium sodas.
The portion sizes were perfect I thought. The food was hot and fresh. I thought the fries and fish could’ve been cooked a bit more golden.
The tartar sauce needed a bit more lemon flavor. However the meals come with 3 lemon wedges.
We both were happy with our food and finished our meals.

Halibut fish and chips are the best! I drive from Vancouver, WA for the Halibut fish and chips. Been eating her for 30 years and it’s always been terrific. The building is old and a bit run down, but the food is great.

Ate there Tuesday evening around 6 pm. Their halibut and chips are usually pretty good but tonight when we walked in saw the grill cook throwing food back into the fryer. It was to reheat the halibut. Made the halibut rubbery and greasy. So disappointed. I know they can do better so I’ll try them again.

I’ve just been there for a takeout order so my experience is limited. Very nice and fast order taking service, prompt food prep. Halibut pieces were mostly batter though, and undercooked at that. I wanted to compare to Freddy’s, which IMO is much better.

Thick battered halibut. Tasty! McDinky burgers are very simple, thin patty w/yummy sauce, they’re surprisingly good.
Staff is awesome. There’s no AC, went in on a 90° day and those poor employees were miserable, but worked with a smile. Very uncomfortable dining in, we didn’t have a choice. The lights and fans are so dirty!! ☹️ Felt like dust bunnies would fall at any minute.

We just came in for dinner! They accidentally messed up part of our meal, they were so quick to remedy it and comped part of it. Super kind and helpful! Customer service like that will have us coming back for sure.
