Be aware when you enter this place! It will surpass your best expectations! Located in the beautiful woods of Wisconsin this supper club should not be missed on any visit. Shall we begin? Get there early and sit at either end of the bar for a bit more privacy and enjoy the talented bartenders’ mixology in the drink of your choice. From there, no table is a bad table. The wait staff is punctual, polite and working hard to ensure the cooks’ beautiful dishes arrive hot and fresh. The menu encompasses fish to farm and salads too. We had the steak bites with mushrooms and gravy for an appetizer. Our main courses were Chicken Parmesan, Ribs, Walleye and more. Special attention to detail is appreciated as even the bread’s olive oil is adorned with balsamic vinegar applied to form a capital “M” for Marty’s Place North. Sadly, we were too stuffed for desert, which gives us incentive for a return visit. Thank you Marty’s team for a memorable evening!

Stopped at Marty’s as we were driving by. What a great decision!! Dining room was full so we ate at the bar. Great service at the bar. Thanks!! We totally enjoyed a Sturgeon dinner with a side of Broccoli medley. The sturgeon was fantastic! We also had steak bites and portobello mushrooms. The wild rice soup was delicious.

Wonderful historic supper club refreshed by new ownership as of 2024. Hits the mark. Great food, great atmosphere, great experience in the north woods. Skipped the appetizers but the pretzel bread was outstanding and Friday night fish fry was spectacular! The chocolate brownie sundae dessert was a highlight of our dining experience. Service was welcoming, prompt, and attentive. Bathrooms look like something out of a public school building… Overall a must-go if you are in the area.

We were a little early for our reservation, but we’re offered a cocktail at the bar or go to our seat. We decided to get a drink at the bar. The old-fashioned was delicious. My sister had a martini which was also tasty. The food was wonderful for the price. There were only a couple of servers working, but they were hustling, and we were in no rush. The menu is designed to share a side. We had the mash potatoes. Everything was wonderful.

This was the perfect place for Friday fish fry during our weekend escape up north! It exceeded our expectations and we can’t find a single thing to complain about. We had the perch fish fry and the bluegill special. Both were delicious! The sides that come with the fish fry (potato of choice, Cole slaw, baked beans, rye bread, and apple sauce) were great and the portions are generous. The batter was lightly crispy on the perch and the breading was crunchy perfection on the bluegill. We had a couple cocktails and the pours did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

They accept reservations – a definite plus! A nice place with great atmosphere in the bar. We sat by the fireplace which was warm & welcoming & the service was very good. We shared onion tangles as a starter – they were a tad too done, verging on burned. The tossed salad was plentiful and fresh & the blue cheese dressing was especially good.The prime rib was good & medium rare, as requested. The pork chop was ample & was done medium (center still pink), as requested, but I do wish the dish had had more wine flavor & less fruitiness. It was a bit like having pie filling on top of the chop – too, sweet for me. We will go back but I will try something else next time. The bill for 3 with 2 a la carte potatoes, 1vegetable medley, 2 cocktails each, & 3 desserts was just short of $250 which seems average for a nice dinner restaurant in this area. I would recommend it.

The sea food dish was very salty! Only 2 shrimp, scallops so small they were hard to find in the linguine. Husband had prime rib that was not tender and lacked flavor. Very pricey! While we were at the table, a gentle man came to our table with an additional bar bill that they forgot to have us pay! We paid before we went to our table! WHAT??

We love Marty’s!!!! Dave and Sue, the owners, were there and treated me to a 30th birthday drink. Our wonderful waitress from Europe (so sorry I forgot her name!!!) provided top notch service and the food was DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend the cheese curds and chicken parm. This is absolutely the best supper club I’ve been to in the north woods!!! MUST GO

I was excited to see that Marty’s was reopening under new management – unfortunately after our first time returning since they closed they missed the mark. It’s still has that cozy up north feel and the bar area is exceptional – but alas, the service was just okay and the food was not very good – out of four of us only one was satisfied with their meal… They’ll need to up their game there… some simple things to fix. I ordered my pork chop med-rare and it came out medium well to well and was kinda dried out..cold fingerling potatoes, I ordered onion strings and got onion rings and so on…hopefully they’ll get it dialed in and once again be on our go-to list.
