The rolled beef pancake is so bad!! Do not order this unless you want to be chewing it for days tastes like they use the leftover days old beef and the pancake isn’t soft it’s hard. Also no dipping sauce. I got ripped off. It looks good in the picture but doesn’t taste good at all! The picture is a placebo effect.

Seriously, the best Hunan and Sichuan cuisine you can find right here in Davis! I’m especially excited about their newly added items – they’re fantastic! We ordered the premium pork elbow, sizzling plate spicy squid, Chinese winter melon, and stir-fried yellow cattle beef. It’s convenient to find authentic Chinese food without having to drive all the way to the Bay Area. I also noticed their new decor and nice music!

This is the place for legit Chinese cuisine in downtown Davis. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, astoundingly delicious food. We ordered Farmhouse Beef (spicy), Mongolian Beef (not too spicy), and egg flower soup. For $6.25 extra, add the Combo to any meal which h includes hot sour soup, egg roll, fried wonton, and steamed white rice.

I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of this Hunan restaurant. I ordered four dishes in total, and the overall quality exceeded my expectations. The Changsha stinky tofu was the first time I’ve experienced such authentic stinky tofu in the entire US. Although it was listed under the cold dishes, it was actually served hot. The tofu was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The rice noodles were also exceptional, especially considering the price range. The pork intestines were prepared nicely as well. I must say, students in this area are fortunate to have access to such an authentic Chinese restaurant at a relatively reasonable price.

Pretty authentic flavors.
We were a big party of 13 and at the end they gave the remaining 5 of us free soup. Fried rice is nice texture, pretty decent spicy dishes here. Coming from the bay, it’s average food for the price of around $16/dish.
Also, if you like walnut shrimp, it’s good here.

Very chill atmosphere (with music and chatter), lovely interior design (I love the blue and gold), plants, etc. amazing food and service was fast both times I’ve been here (while we were one of the only customers in the store and when we weren’t). All of the dishes were delicious, spicy, sour or sweet and the rice was soft. They gave us free 红糖糍粑 when they overheard it was one of my party’s members birthday and gave a free panda bag as a gift to the 7yr old kid that was with us the second time I came here. Now one of my favorite restaurants in downtown 🙂

Saturday night:
Hostess/Floor Manager ignored us. Waiters got zero instruction to serve us. Sat at our table for 10mins, ignored. Finally a waiter asked if we had been served, and service began. Note: We were the only people of color here. A group of 4 Asian students came in and were served immediately.
Food:
Greasy, over sauced and overused black and white pepper. Hard to taste the traditional sauces when your palate is fried. Only dish that was exceptional was the Wor Won-Ton. Great flavor, dumplings were perfect and the broth could easily stand alone.
Service:
Horrible. Continued to ignore us. Had to ask for bowls for our Won-Ton and got an to-go container. Asked for white rice and got a small bowl. Ran out of the tea, with the lid up and ignored. Moving too fast to take care of tables . Hostess is useless and refused write contact with us when asked for help.
Go somewhere else. Panda Express is only a little worse than this place.

THIS RESTAURANT RUINED CHRISTMAS. We placed an order pick up for our Christmas dinner. We placed it through their online ordering platform on their website. It said 20min until ready for pick up. We waited for our food for an hour and half. They told us two of the items were ready and just sitting there getting cold but the rest of the order wasn’t ready. They wouldn’t give any estimation on how long it would take or give any sort of refund or anything to make it right. Then they canceled the order on us after waiting for an hour and half in the restaurant for the order to be ready. DO NOT GO HERE.
