It’s the real deal. Don’t overthink it. Get the stuffed chicken parm with vodka sauce if available. The byob is awesome too. The calamari is fresh and crispy. Don’t go here and not get the calamari.

This chicken Francese is absolutely terrible. It’s extremely sour—unbearably so. The sourness doesn’t come from fresh lemons, which have a natural, pleasant aroma. Instead, it tastes like straight lemon juice, with an overwhelmingly sharp acidity that overpowers everything else. There’s no other flavor to balance it out. All in all, it’s really bad.

Café Michelina is such a fun spot in Hoboken! They have some of the best chicken cutlets I’ve ever had. They are thin, crispy, and absolutely delicious, I especially like the stuffed ones. The pasta is decent, but I mostly come here for the cutlets. The restaurant is always lively and can get pretty loud, but that’s part of the charm, people even dance during dinner! Last time I went everyone was swinging napkins! If you want a reservation, you’ll need to call the day before, but the wait for a walk-in table is usually not too bad. Great food and a really fun atmosphere!

My friends and I came here for a BYOB dinner, it was absolutely delicious & the chicken cutlets with vodka sauce were to die for. The space is a little tight, but the staff were very friendly and personable.

Consistently the best sit-down Italian restaurant in Hoboken. No frills but it’s better that way. Pomodoro and vodka sauces are excellent.

I love Cafe Michelina! An authentic, family-style Italian place that is super cozy and serves delicious food. The cacio e pepe with chicken cutlet was superb, and I also really like the chicken parm.

Small Italian restaurant in Hoboken. Definitely one of the better ones in town. BYOB and the portions were large for the price we paid which is always appreciated nowadays. Would highly recommend I want to come back here and try their other entrees.

I’ve dined at Café Michelina many times, and it has truly become one of my favorite spots. Whether I’m stopping in for a casual dinner, bringing friends, or hosting a group, the consistency is unmatched.

The food is always incredible—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. One of the absolute highlights is the fresh mozzarella-making experience. Watching the mozz being made right in front of you is not only fun and engaging, but it makes you appreciate just how fresh and special the food really is. The mozzarella is hands-down some of the best I’ve ever had—soft, warm, and unforgettable.

From the pastas to the entrees, everything tastes homemade and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there’s real pride behind every dish that comes out of the kitchen.

What truly sets Café Michelina apart is how easy and accommodating they make hosting a group. Whether it’s a celebration, a special experience, or just gathering people together, the staff is organized, flexible, and genuinely helpful. They make the entire process feel seamless and stress-free, which is rare and so appreciated.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and intimate—perfect for both everyday dinners and special occasions. The staff makes you feel like family, remembers faces, and truly wants you to have a great experience every single time. Service is attentive without ever feeling rushed.

Café Michelina is a true neighborhood gem that consistently delivers restaurant-quality excellence. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here, and that says everything.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing Italian food, a cozy vibe, and a place that makes dining with groups just as enjoyable as a night out for two.

A hidden gem in Hoboken that truly feels like stepping into an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. The warm, inviting atmosphere is matched by the incredible smell of homemade Italian cooking that hits you the moment you walk in.

It’s BYOB, so bring a bottle of wine and settle in. We started with the meatball appetizer — tender, well-seasoned, and served in a rich marinara sauce with just the right balance of acidity and sweetness. The complimentary fresh bread was perfect for soaking up every last bit of that sauce.

I had the lobster ravioli in vodka sauce for my main. The pasta was delicate and the lobster filling was sweet and flavorful. The vodka sauce was creamy, with a subtle kick that paired beautifully with the richness of the lobster. I only wish there had been a few more ravioli — it left me wanting more.

This place delivers on flavor, comfort, and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.
