My husband and I split a fantastic dish served in a cast iron container. Overflowing with a variety of meats, shrimp, charro beans and much more. It was an umami of delicious flavors. And the corn tortillas served with it were wonderful.

Good spot to get some Mexican food. The salsa is AMAZING – 5 stars! The cheese dip is also really good with fresh chips. Strong margaritas. We ordered the fajita quesadilla, it does not come with rice and beans so we got a side, enough food to share. Overall, one of the better Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in the area.

We decided to give El Machete a try since we always drive by it. We got seated and had to move seats because the booth wood seat was broken and the top was loose. We sat at another table and went ahead and ordered. We had Chicken Chimichangas. We also ordered the Loco dip. The dip was pretty good so I thought this was a good sign. We got our main dishes and it looked good. I cut into the chimichanga and it immediately smelled off. My wife cut into hers and she said the same thing. We went ahead and tried it and it tasted as bad as it smelled. The waiter never came back over to check on us so we waited about 15 minutes and asked for the bill. We were optimistic about trying the food here but unfortunately I think it’s the worst Mexican food that I have ever had. Maybe it was an off night but I don’t think we will be going back.

Really good Mexican restaurant without all the tourist traffic. We stopped in for dinner a couple minutes after happy hour, but the waiter still gave us drinks at happy hour prices. That alone is worth five stars, however the food was also really good and the service was great as well. I will definitely stop in again.

Jonathan was excellent! He made recommendations and even suggested a “secret menu” item. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we got to eat. Lots of flavor and food was served quickly. 100% returning to try more items on the menu. Update – This is our Mexican spot – We have been here several times and it is consistently great! Please stop in and try this place.

When family came in for a visit in January 2026, I suggested El Machete because I hadn’t been and we like Mexican food. What. A. Treat! Everything was deliciously authentic and the portions were so large, we had to ask for boxes. The staff was calm and friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
