I picked up a 12oz side of guacamole and a 12oz side of queso with chips to drop off to the Imagine Foundry yesterday.
It was around $26 and the wait wasn’t bad. They were busy and hustling given the holiday.
My issue is with the serving size once I arrived. I briefly checked everything before serving it and the $12 (after tax) side of guacamole was about 2/3 full.
That is wild to me.
This was my third time picking up this order for a friend. Each time I get cilantro on the side of the guacamole and its never been this light. I purchased one chorizo sopapilla the last time I went and it was over 6 months from this most recent order. I hadn’t returned because while the chorizo was delicious I had about 1/4c of meat for the entire sandwich which was massive. The bulk of the sandwich had no meat. I did order avocado with it and they were generous with the serving for that upcharge.
The food I’ve had here, while tasty, is hit or miss. Their serving sizes are inconsistent and they want gratuity for take-away to boot.
I much prefer other local venues like Casa Grande or El Tap. Better service and uniform serving sizes.

There’s not a time that I go there where my food is not just how I ordered it and hot and delicious. The customer service is second to none. The cuisine is authentic which means everything. You get so much food for your money!! Way to go El Campo.

El Compa Tacos has the best, most authentic tacos in town—seriously. Their lengua, asada, carnitas, and pastor are all full of flavor, always fresh, and super reasonably priced. The salsa verde is phenomenal too—especially if you like a salsa with just the right kick. There’s no need to overthink it. This is just solid Mexican food done right.
Their staff is extremely friendly and kind.

Yoo !! The BEST !! The fish tacos were so yummy. The Guac n chip so damn good. My grilled chicken burrito was fire ! I’ll drive out my way to dine here and the prices are great. The habanero salsa was more than I could handle but it was great flavor.

We visited this restaurant today .me and the family kind of stumbled upon it. We walked in and spent $65 on 6tacos,1burrito and a carne asada dinner plus side of beans n rice and 4 drinks. The tacos are real dry and small. The burrito was full of lettuce and the meat was dry as well.I peeked into the kitchen and there was 3 women running around back there. A lot of cross contamination on the tiny grill. Beef and chicken and pork all being cooked next to each other and the oils are all over everything. Definitely not kool. So I will not recommend or come back. By the way your taco bread what you call home made tortillas suck. Taste like lard .

Dropped by El Compa Tacos to meet family last night. This was some of the best Mexican food we’ve had. There are plenty of places you eat that the food never lives up to the photo advertisement for the dish. This restaurant is definitely an exception. I don’t need to add a picture of the food – everything we got looks like the photos. I would recommend El Compa to anyone visiting Cookeville. The plates we all ordered were so tasty and plentiful. I had their El Compa plate and had some of the best prepared shrimp I’ve ever tasted. I’d go back just for that! Prices are comparable or less than expected. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is authentic. Go here and experience some great food!

I was so impressed and so satisfied with the meal I had here today. I got the fish tacos and my boyfriend got the chorizo and the el pastor tacos. We got chips salsa, and some habanero sauce (fire!). So so good….The chorizo was both of our favorites. It had the deepest flavor. We are excited to return and want to try the chicken and carne asada next. So I did give five stars for atmosphere but it is authentic gas station restaurant and who doesn’t love that? Oh forgot about the green onions, probably my only negative but it’s more of a size and texture opinion.

Who would have ever guessed that a little spot next to a gas station would be so good?
I just grabbed a few sides to munch on during my drive. Guacamole, Cheese dip, Bean dip.
The queso was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The bean dip was also great. The chips and salsa especial were awesome too.
Only complaint was the guacamole was too salty for my tastes. It was good but I could finish it because it was so salty. Other wise perfect snack!
They have a pick up window. Great for lazy people like me!
