Taste of Somalia catered our team’s Iftar at our company today, and the food was absolutely incredible.
We had rice with chicken and beef, and everything was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and generously portioned. The salad was fresh and crisp, which complemented the meal really well. And the Biscoff cake was super good, definitely a standout.
I don’t have many photos of the food, but trust me, it was amazing. People were going back for seconds multiple times, which says everything.

Taste of Somalia is so good – I can’t say it loud enough.
The service is top notch. We had a lovely conversation with the owner and his cousin. We got chai on the house and they hooked it up with the sauces. We waited in the car and they delivered to our window. They used to open from 2-6pm(?) but changed their hours for Ramadan from 5-10pm to cater to their customers.
The rice is extremely flavorful. I could eat the rice alone honestly. The meats are juicy with a hint of sweetness. The garlic sauce is perfect, I like the consistency. It’s not super creamy like a ranch. It’s more fluid, it comes right out of the container, no scraping needed. The green “hot sauce” gives the dish some acidity (although it can be spicier, it’s more flavor than hot sauce) with the cilantro-vinegary feel and taste. The portions are huge.
If you like The Halal Guys, picture that elevated. I am a loyal Halal Guys fan, don’t get me wrong – I still love it, however Taste of Somalia is truly a level up. The Somali spices shine through delivering a much more robust and complex flavor profile. This is a must have. Thank you Taste of Somalia can’t wait to visit you again.

Amazing food. I got a chicken rice plate. Portion size was great. The chicken had so much flavor and cooked perfectly. The rice tasted great as well. They were really nice as well. Also halal!

This was my second time coming to this food truck, and it did not disappoint! I tried the rice and chicken, the spaghetti with beef, and the chicken wrap, all of them were flavorful and well seasoned. But my absolute favorites were the loaded fries and the strawberry crunch cake. The fries were perfectly crispy and topped with so much goodness, and the cake was the perfect sweet ending. The customer service is always amazing super friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I first tried their food through their catering service a while back and it was amazing. So I was excited to hear they recently got a spot to set up their food truck.
I got the sambus, chicken baris, and a slice of their tea-flavored milk cake. Everything was just as good as I remembered!

Absolutely amazing for the price. Both chicken and beef were quite flavorful. Maybe the salt is a little more than needed but overall I really liked everything about the chicken and rice bowl, beef wrap and the loaded fries that I got. They need to give way more of that house sauce though.

Great experience to say the least. I decided to grab one of everything pretty much to share with the family and it all taste fantastic. I personally love the beef baris bowl. The red bull Italian soda also was great. Definitely will be returning.
