The prices here are also about 3 bucks more for the same products at other nearby TSC locations.
Weird vibe. Expensive prices. Bad customer service. Avoid.
Today, however, was a completely different experience. I ordered the exact same smoothie the same way: no pineapple and extra white chocolate. Just by the color alone, I could tell there were more strawberries added. After tasting it, I was sure, so I went back inside and asked if extra strawberries had been added. The worker told me no and said he would get the manager.
The manager assured me that no extra strawberries were added, but then the worker stated that he had added strawberry juice instead of water. When I repeated this to the manager, she turned to the worker and pressured him to say that he did not add strawberry juice. She then refused to remake the drink.
This experience has honestly ruined my desire to visit another Tropical Smoothie. This review is not meant to blame the worker, but to address the extremely poor customer service shown by the manage especially considering this involved a food allergy.
Note: The drink comes with addition to strawberries coconut and white chocolate in which the drink tasted like it had only strawberries even with additional white chocolate added.
They proceed to make the smoothies of the guests that were waiting (rightfully so) and I waited. And waited…and waited. They did not say anything else and watched as my mom and I discussed me dropping it and waiting. After 7min of them saying nothing I asked the white woman with the dark buzz cut “do I need to reorder it?” And her response was “I mean do you want to reorder it?” And I said “oh you guys weren’t going to remake it?” And she responds with “no we don’t do that”. I said oh y’all didn’t say anything.
You mean to tell me I spent 10 dollars on a smoothie and you’re not gonna remake it for an accidental drop! I’ve watched Starbucks remake drinks for people, the movies when you drop your popcorn. As a bartender of 5 years even I remake a drink when there’s all clear accidental drop.
It’s just good customer service and what you do for your patrons because, accidents happen! I just couldn’t believe the lack of courtesy and understanding.
Very very disappointing.
So I played her game and after I said one of my orders was disgusting could I exchange it for something else she said NO.
But she said could remake the nasty disgusting meal for me that I just said I didn’t like. I asked for a refund she again said… NO.
She said it was her policy that she was doing things this way so I said show me the policy. What did she say as a response? You guessed it. “NO”
Never returning again. Stay away. Spread the word.
Had I looked beforehand, I would not have stepped foot inside this store.
After visiting physical therapy next door, I stopped in — and in all my years patronizing Tropical Smoothie locations, I have never been charged to substitute one ingredient for another.
But beyond the unexpected charge, the way it was communicated was unbelievably rude — disrespectful and dismissive. The tone, the attitude, and the smirk were all unnecessary and unprofessional.
When I asked to speak to the manager, his response was, “I am the manager.”
I then asked for the owner’s contact information and was told, “It’s over there on the plaque.”
As someone who works in management myself, I found his conduct completely unacceptable.
Owner, your operations at this location are being run poorly, and it is costing you business.
I refused to make a purchase and took my money elsewhere.
