⭐☆☆☆☆ ZERO STARS — DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING
Sushi Boricua was one of the most disappointing food experiences I’ve had.
I drove from New Port Richey, FL On Saturday, January 17, 2026 to World of Food Trucks in Orlando because this truck is heavily hyped all over social media. Based on what’s promoted online, I expected quality food and decent service. What I experienced instead was frustration from start to finish.
From the moment I approached the truck, the service felt cold and unwelcoming. I mentioned I had heard great things, yet received no greeting, no smile, and no basic courtesy, just an irritated attitude that made it feel like customers were an inconvenience.
We waited well over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, it was poorly presented and rushed. The rolls all looked identical the beef was shredded like in a food processor had no labels, and one was missing shrimp. When I brought this to their attention, the response felt dismissive and annoyed. I’ve included pictures, but that’s when we we took it and just said we’re done with us. We started putting it in another tray, but then decided to throw it in the garbage.
After all that waiting, the food itself was a major letdown. We took a few bites and could not continue eating it, food, processors steak. The taste and overall quality did not justify the long wait or the cost.
This wasn’t just a minor issue, it was an overall bad experience. Long wait times, unwelcoming service, careless presentation, and food that did not meet expectations. The online hype sets expectations that this place does not deliver.
Final warning: If you’re considering Sushi Boricua based on social media hype, be prepared for a long wait and an experience that may leave you disappointed. Your time and money may be better spent elsewhere.

So I got the churrasco and the mar and tierra rolls. I paid $40. I waited 20 min. My food was warm almost cold but It didn’t bother me. What hurt me is that both rolls were literally the same roll with the difference that the mar y Tierra roll had some cooked salty shrimp on top. I’ve tried this type of sushi before and the mar y Tierra usually has the shrimp inside the roll. And yes every restaurant cooks this receipt differently but both rolls had THE SAME FLAVOR AND SAUCES. The flavor of the rolls wasn’t terrible but it was very disappointing.

Sushi Boriqua – Don’t waste your time or money. Came from St Pete. just to try this spot after seeing it hyped up on YouTube and TikTok. All I can say is: NASTY – The food, the employees attitudes just awful. My family and I waited over an hour for our 4 rolls. When we finally
got our order it was so cold, thrown together in the container no presentation at all and WRONG. We ordered 4 different rolls and you couldn’t tell any apart. No way to tell if we even got the right rolls we ordered. Plus one roll was supposed to have shrimp and nope not there. We went back up to the counter to ask what was what and tell let them know we never got the shrimp. The employee gave us attitude grabbed one container literally threw 5 tiniest pieces of shrimp on it and says There’s your shrimp and basically tossed the container back at us with the biggest attitude. We definitely let them know they had such nasty service and attitudes. When we finally tried our rolls they were disgusting. Damn near throw up had to spit them out. We didn’t eat any nor did we get a refund. $90. Wasted. SHUT THEM DOWN any good reviews you read about Sushi Boriqua has to be fake reviews.

The people here don’t seem like they enjoy our even want to be here. Love the concept so I tried a roll and it was good. Not as flavorful as I’d expected but good.

If I could give this a zero I would. We waited for 65 minutes for our food and it was not presentable. We ordered an Alcapurria roll, Mofongo roll and a Mar and Tierra roll. First they all looked exactly alike no label or nothing to give us any idea which was which. Then we noticed he did not put the shrimp, so I took it back up and he acted like it was a bother to him. So I let him know in Spanish, What terrible service. Then we tasted it and threw it out. All I can say is YUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not worth the wait or money.

I loved the Churrasco roll!! It was DELICIOUS and exactly what I needed. A little pricey, but we knew what to expect coming to the food trucks. It’s become a staple for tourists. A little tip – please have soy sauce handy… they didn’t have any when I went.

Visited the truck while it was at a food fair in Pinellas County. Ordered the empanadillas, alcapurrias and the Caribbean Sushi Roll. The sushi was amazing! I’ve had sushi all over Pinellas County and I have to say this roll was so delicious I had to come back the next day for more!

It was a cold Saturday night and all I wanted wanted was Puerto Rican sushi. After over an HOUR waiting with one person in front of me…..I received my ice cold sushi. The girl behind the counter was rude and had some smart comments to make. All the hype was not worth it at all. The best part was the lemonade which was giant and delicious. But $20 for some cold, bad attitude made sushi? NAH. PAL CARA……

We ordered our food at 7:11pm, they gave us a beeper to let us know when our food was ready. We went up after like 20 minutes of waiting to see if our food was ready because we noticed a ton of people who ordered after us get their food before us. They said our beeper will let us know, and we went back to sit down. A WHOLE 45 MINUTES LATER, we went back to say we’ve been waiting a RIDICULOUSLY LONG TIME for just 1 order. They asked to see the receipt and gave us cold food, and said that they’ve been calling us for a long time. First of all, NO, they haven’t. Second, our beeper NEVER went off. We were NEVER NOTIFIED that our food was ready. We went back to get a remake because the food was cold, and one of the guys took the food in the plastic container and STUCK IT IN THE MICROWAVE. They handed it back to us with PLASTIC MELTED ON IT. Horrible service, I highly do NOT recommend coming here. We didn’t even want the food anymore after that point. We realized the staff is just incompetent and doesn’t care about quality service. We got a refund and left after wasting our time waiting on them to do literally anything.

I came here with my sister for the first time and had to choose from so many food trucks. I’ve always wanted to eat Rican Sushi. All in all it’s very good and very tasty but I wish the sushi were warmer especially the ones with meat in them. They are all very nice and the humongous lemonade was great. We had The Titanic which was 3 rolls. We had the Churrasco roll, the Mofongo roll and the PR roll. All of them were delicious. If they serve the rolls warmer it would be even better. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be served cold but that was a no no for me. If you are ever in the area go it’s worth the trip.
