Reviews
Edit: The owner responded in a timely manner. They had a new cook on the grill with new food, and obviously, they were having a rough night. The owner was very understanding and helpful
Service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. If you’re looking for a place with good food and a relaxed vibe, Roots 89 Grill is definitely worth checking out. Don’t forget to try their house-made sauces—they add an extra kick to the meal! Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying, no-fuss dining experience.
Would come back again. The shakes are always 10/10 too!
Beverages:
The raspberry shake was divine. It was thick, creamy, and bursting with the fresh flavor of raspberries. It’s an excellent choice for anyone with a sweet tooth.
The root beer float was equally great. The fizzy root beer paired perfectly with the creamy vanilla ice cream. It’s a classic treat that never disappoints.
Main Course:
The hamburgers were a highlight of the meal. They were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell they put thought into crafting each burger.
If you’re a fan of cheese curds, you absolutely must try the garlic cheese curds. They’re the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The subtle hint of garlic takes them to the next level.
Sides:
The poutine here is a must-try. The rich, savory gravy over the crispy fries and melty cheese curds is a taste sensation. I wish I could have it every day with how much I enjoyed it.
Service and Presentation:
The service was quick and efficient. Our drinks and shakes came out first, followed shortly by our food. It was evident that the staff took pride in ensuring we had a seamless dining experience.
What truly stood out was the attention to presentation. Each dish was plated beautifully, and you could see the effort put into making the meal not only delicious but visually appealing as well.
Ambiance:
The restaurant’s vintage setting on the main street in an old building with hardwood, squeaky floors adds a unique and nostalgic touch to your dining experience.
Staff Friendliness:
The staff was not only efficient but also friendly and prompt, making us feel at home.
Cleanliness and Hygiene:
It felt very clean inside, with tables wiped down meticulously. I didn’t notice any spills or crumbs on the tables anywhere. This attention to detail only added to the overall positive impression of the restaurant.
The next time we visit, we can’t wait to try another shake – their menu has us intrigued – and for sure, we’ll be getting another order of the poutine, which was a highlight of our meal. It’s a place we’ll want to visit again and again. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their offerings, enjoying both the food and the lovely ambiance. My visit was a delightful experience, and I look forward to many more in the future.
We had a fairly large group and the staff was so kind and patient with us and our large orders.
They have delicious burgers and fries.
They have special drinks as well.
I recommend this place. If you are in the area. You can even sit outside and eat. They come out with it when your food is ready.
Really happy with this place. Great burgers and sides. Great customer service. Keep it up.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 2024
It was so, so busy when we went in the evening a couple weeks ago. We were told we would have an hour wait, and we agreed to wait. The staff were all friendly, and we liked the environment.
I got the special, jalapeño popper burger. It was creative and yummy. They indulged us in our lettuce wraps.
I wasn’t a fan of the homemade ranch, but that’s probably just because I expected a buttermilk. I also didn’t really care for the cheese curds, and felt I was mostly getting breading.
We spent $45 for two people after tip. I liked the specials and thought it was good enough for the occasional visit. We’ve been recommending it to friends in the area.
