We loved our experience here. The service was fantastic, and the food was to die for. I had the Roots 89 burger, that comes with bacon, cheddar and onion rings on the burger, plus lettuce pickles and tomato. My husband had the mushroom Swiss burger and it was also delicious. We shared fries and there was so much food, we could not finish it. The quaint style in the older building was awesome. They were very busy and seemed to take care of everyone very well. Highly recommend!! Go there.

It’s hard the find great customer service these days. The workers here knocked it out of the park. They made great suggestions on food and were very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing specially the fries and fry sauce. The restaurant is clean and the decor is a rustic/old fashion aesthetic. With great music choices might I add. It’s a shame we live so far away or we’d frequent more often. I hope the owner is proud to have the great crew they do, that serves spectacular food! Also the milkshakes are a must! If we are ever in the area again we will be visiting again.

My wife and I were planning on going up north for Valentine’s Day. On our drive up we started to hit a snowstorm and decided that we should turn around and just eat somewhere local. We didn’t want to get caught going to slow in the canyon and leave a babysitter for hours with our kids. Roots is our usual go-to, even though lately they haven’t been too consistent it’s either really good or not so good. We happily went in ordered our usual happily paid 50 bucks for two burgers and a drink. Got our Burgers back and they look like this… I don’t know what happened on Valentine’s Day, neither of us could take more than a bite. It looks like they had dumped a whole vat of burger grease on my burger…. enough that I left a puddle in the container. Honestly, I’m really disappointed that we wasted 50 bucks on Roots.

Edit: The owner responded in a timely manner. They had a new cook on the grill with new food, and obviously, they were having a rough night. The owner was very understanding and helpful

I’ve been eating at Roots 89 Grill for over 5 years, and love the place. Great friendly service; much better, more creative food than any of the big chains (there’s no comparison!), and a uniquely warm, charming and old-timey atmosphere. Formerly Roots 89 was seen as a Spring City and Sanpete County secret. It’s not secret anymore! Try it out! Especially the Bird Sandwich!

Roots 89 Grill in Spring City, Utah, is a hidden gem that’s worth the trip. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. Their menu is diverse, offering a range of delicious options from juicy burgers to fresh salads. The standout for me was their BBQ pulled pork sandwich—tender, flavorful, and generously portioned. The homemade fries on the side were crispy and perfectly seasoned.

Service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. If you’re looking for a place with good food and a relaxed vibe, Roots 89 Grill is definitely worth checking out. Don’t forget to try their house-made sauces—they add an extra kick to the meal! Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying, no-fuss dining experience.

This was such a yummy meal! I had the crispy chicken salad and the ranch made it so so yummy and it paired well with the pickles and crispy chicken!
Would come back again. The shakes are always 10/10 too!

I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. From start to finish, the experience was memorable. Let me break down what made it so fantastic:

Beverages:
The raspberry shake was divine. It was thick, creamy, and bursting with the fresh flavor of raspberries. It’s an excellent choice for anyone with a sweet tooth.
The root beer float was equally great. The fizzy root beer paired perfectly with the creamy vanilla ice cream. It’s a classic treat that never disappoints.

Main Course:
The hamburgers were a highlight of the meal. They were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell they put thought into crafting each burger.
If you’re a fan of cheese curds, you absolutely must try the garlic cheese curds. They’re the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The subtle hint of garlic takes them to the next level.

Sides:
The poutine here is a must-try. The rich, savory gravy over the crispy fries and melty cheese curds is a taste sensation. I wish I could have it every day with how much I enjoyed it.
Service and Presentation:

The service was quick and efficient. Our drinks and shakes came out first, followed shortly by our food. It was evident that the staff took pride in ensuring we had a seamless dining experience.
What truly stood out was the attention to presentation. Each dish was plated beautifully, and you could see the effort put into making the meal not only delicious but visually appealing as well.

Ambiance:
The restaurant’s vintage setting on the main street in an old building with hardwood, squeaky floors adds a unique and nostalgic touch to your dining experience.

Staff Friendliness:
The staff was not only efficient but also friendly and prompt, making us feel at home.
Cleanliness and Hygiene:

It felt very clean inside, with tables wiped down meticulously. I didn’t notice any spills or crumbs on the tables anywhere. This attention to detail only added to the overall positive impression of the restaurant.
The next time we visit, we can’t wait to try another shake – their menu has us intrigued – and for sure, we’ll be getting another order of the poutine, which was a highlight of our meal. It’s a place we’ll want to visit again and again. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their offerings, enjoying both the food and the lovely ambiance. My visit was a delightful experience, and I look forward to many more in the future.

Quaint little spot in Spring City. Reminiscent of an old soda fountain shop complete with amazing, delicious food. The ice cream was above and beyond creamy and satisfying.
We had a fairly large group and the staff was so kind and patient with us and our large orders.

ORIGINAL REVIEW 2024
It was so, so busy when we went in the evening a couple weeks ago. We were told we would have an hour wait, and we agreed to wait. The staff were all friendly, and we liked the environment.

I got the special, jalapeño popper burger. It was creative and yummy. They indulged us in our lettuce wraps.

I wasn’t a fan of the homemade ranch, but that’s probably just because I expected a buttermilk. I also didn’t really care for the cheese curds, and felt I was mostly getting breading.

We spent $45 for two people after tip. I liked the specials and thought it was good enough for the occasional visit. We’ve been recommending it to friends in the area.
