Ordered way too much food just to try a bit of everything. All the food we ordered was outstanding. Best breakfast by far. Outdoor seating was nice and very friendly wait staff. Never had blintz until eating here and they were phenomenal with the cream cheese topping. Loaded tots with a breakfast spin is a winner. Howe Street biscuit is also a must have. Definitely recommend.

Back home I rarely see grits on a breakfast menu so I decided to try something new. The colors were beautiful, and as I stirred in the pepper jack cheese and egg yolk I tried my first bite. Oh. My. Gosh. It was creamy. Crunchy. Fresh. The bacon and scallions made the flavors pop and I engulfed the whole thing. A friend got the french toast & hers disappeared. Meals like this would have been double the price where I live. Truly, it was absolutely delicious. Thank you for giving me a taste of North Carolina!

Stopped by for lunch and will definitely be back. Everything was delicious. We had the Strawberry Goat Cheese BLT and the Da Bacon Bomb Burger along with loaded tots. The servings are healthy and you will leave full. Service, atmosphere, all of it is excellent.

We came for the crepes and everything was delicious. The biscuits are AMAZING. I wanted sweet this morning, but all of their savory options sounded awesome too. We got crepes, stuffed French toast, grits and a biscuit. I had a coffee as well. We would definitely come again! Way better than the locals!

Fun, casual experience. Ordered in the front and ate outside at the picnic tables.

We got the Northerner Omelette, the Cinnamon Toast Crepe (w/ banana and candied walnuts), and the Fruity Crepe. All were delicious! Fun breakfast.

Went here for lunch. Outside seating only for now. You order at the hostess desk, then they’ll bring you your ordered meals. I had the “Not Your Mamma’s BLT” w/out mayo (not a fan) but added goat cheese and pepper jelly on multigrain bread – delicious. The sandwich came with a side of chips or you can order up and get curly fries, tater tots or side salad. I went with the side of chips. Husband had the Saucy Goat Burger with Beyond Meat patty – I had a taste and it was also very good, he also really enjoyed it! He had the tater tots as the side…those were ‘meh’. Wasn’t worth the extra calories for me.

Service was excellent, very attentive and food was out relatively fast. The only downer was the fact you’re outside, it’s hot and you have flies bugging you. If you have one of those fly repellent fans, be sure to bring it.

Solid 4 star for a lunch spot and for the food and service. We’ll be back.

The Saucy Southerner restaurant is nestled in the beautiful landscape of Southport NC, they have the best tasting Panko Chicken Sandwich I have ever had, it was literally to die for hands down. Every ingredient was perfectly matched to entertain your taste buds from the perfectly cooked chicken, down to the homemade spicy sriracha sauce, bacon, lettuce and pickles on a bun. My wife had the Chocolate-chip Pumpkin Pecan pancakes and she said they tasted like, Fall and a Hallmark Movie all combined in your mouth. I had a bite of them and it was so flavorful, you have to try them out. Definitely try out The Saucy Southerner as your taste buds will thank you. The owner and staff were Amazing, they even brought out a water bowl for our Golden Retriever. They are pet friendly. Stellar food and a great atmosphere. The kickin Chicken omelette and Sweet Potato tots are the perfect match for your appetite and taste buds to help jump start your day as Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You must try the Kickin Chicken Omelette as it has a plethora of the most delicious and fresh ingredients, I could honestly eat it every day for how amazing it tastes.

I am hooked on their Sweet and Savory blintzes! My mother in law and I go there for breakfast at least once a week. Their other meals look great but I just can’t stray from the blintzes! They taste just like my mother used to make and brings back wonderful memories! Their tea and coffee are also wonderful! Love love love this place! The owner always comes out to talk and make sure everything was good. Jill and Megan are so nice and we always feel so welcome!

Cute cafe in Southport, a little away from the downtown crowd. Large outdoor seating but beware of all the flies.
The Strawberry goat cheese blt was loaded with tangy goat cheese and bacon. The fried green tomatoes didn’t have a lot of crispy crust, but added a good acidity.
The Triple S burger was loaded with sauce and crispy onions. The tater tots were cooked perfectly and crunchy.
Only open until 2pm, definitely worth a stoo.

As our yearly family reunion beach trip in Holden Beach, North Carolina came to an end this past Saturday we had to make a return visit to Southport, NC to grab some brunch before leaving to head home.
Unfortunately to our disappointment our beloved goto brunch spot Sebbys Pizzeria changed gears on us to answer their new calling to become a pizzeria and as good as that sounded we had pizza the night before so we get them on the next weekend visit. But where one door closes a other is sure to open, so we headed on into south Port to give another place a try that had also caught my eyes a few days before when we came into town. Just the name itself spoke to us, The Saucy Southerner. Because my wife is a born and breed southerner who has helped convert me into becoming one, we tend to have a weakness for Southern inspired restaurants. We didn’t get there in time for the breakfast menu, but that’s all right as it only took us about 10 seconds after reading over the menu to discover what we wanted, which was everything. She opted for the fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich with sauted onions and mushrooms and pepper relish. I don’t think I need to say any more on that as I’m sure your mouth is starting to water, and yes, it was as good as it sounds.
On the other hand, I had a serious issue of not being able to decide what I wanted, I finally went with the brunch burger because we were originally looking for brunch. Cooked perfectly the why I like my burgers and severed with a side of sweet tatter tots. Both sandwiches turned out to be a little messy, and that’s absolutely OK as the saying goes, “It ain’t good if it ain’t messy.”I wouldn’t say good, though. They were great sandwiches thoughtfully created and made to order with a touch of Southern love.
The entire town of Southport has stolen our hearts and will definitely be spending more small weekend trips here when we can.
