I came here with a small group for the first time and had a nice little lunch. It’s a super cute little restaurant with nice big windows and pretty products for sale to look at like serving bowls and mugs before you go. The food was pretty good, as were the cocktails. While I didn’t get any this time their list of desserts sounded good so I would definitely return to try them out!

Awesome local eatery! Every thing was excellent. I would say its definitely above average! I had the chicken salad croissant which was excellent and my wife had the Cobb salad which had a tasty twist to it with sweet potato fries on top! We did not try the desserts but what we seen looked amazing.
Workers were great!
We travel through here about twice a year we will be stopping again .
It is hard to believe we have been traveling through here for 24 years and have never ate here!!!

The Keeping Room was Nebraska Passport stop number 59 for us in 2024. We heard all about the great desserts, but we were in need of some lunch, so we settled for some comfort food instead — meatballs, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

After our lunch, we toured the rest of the establishment, which seemed to go on forever. Many of the displays were extremely well done, and I especially enjoyed marveling at the seven (or eight?) foot tall baker’s rack.

We met for a business lunch. Service was friendly, with multiple servers waiting on us, which maybe caused a little confusion on orders, etc, but they were attentive and friendly. The food was very good! We all liked our meals and we will definitely go back!

Negative first.
Came over for the apple jack festival the room was very loud and voices carried easily not because there was a good amount of people it was if they added some texture to reduce noise on the white wall and ceiling it would fix the problem.

To check out and pay you have to weave between tables to wait in line . The cashier is right at the entrance witch is a nice double wide doorway so about 7ft wide but now 3ft of space is taken up by a cashier so you have people coming in while your trying to pay and fighting traffic just to get through the entrance.

They can fix this by having the cashier to pay bill at the bar.

The food was expensive for how much you got . Small portions for 17+ usd just for a meal.

The Positive

Man the food was delicious
I had the biscuits and gravy the biscuits where great not to salty and a little flacky .
They where soft and a little firm and buttery but definitely not tough.
Then the gravy ooh man it was good nice flavor a hugh amount of meat and good color they didn’t cook the rue too long , good seasoned meat and savory sauce to complement it.

The Quiche
Nice flacky buttery crust that was hearty enough to not get mushy with the eggs but not too tough either it was just right .
The eggs where well seasoned and good fluffy texture and delicious flavor .
There just wasn’t enough

Honestly first watch is cheaper and has as good flavor and first watch is kinda expensive.

We had so much fun exploring the fun boutique space after a fantastic breakfast. My partner raved about their homemade soup, and I loved the atmosphere. I wish I would have tried the pies; they looked incredible too.

I’m in town for a wedding at The Lied. A friend from Grand Island said that I had to visit and eat at the KR. She was right! What a lovely shop and great restaurant. The Apple, feta cheese, walnut salad was perfect.

The beautiful collection of painted dishware for sale and used for serving meals is wonderful. Fresh flowers on the homie wooden tables is very relaxing.
Thank you!

Very cute place; charming and welcoming decor. I had a salad that came within minutes of ordering. Very crispy and fresh with apples, nuts, and chicken. Excellent homemade vinaigrette.
The only thing that needs work is the sign stating to wait until seated. You will wait a long time, even if nearly empty. Easiest to seat yourself as others have said.

My family and I visited this year for the Apple Jack festival because of souvenir glass. Well all we ordered was my $8 cocktail, a $8 dessert my husband and I shared, 3 pops, and I ordered my children fruit which came with fruffles. The fruit was only watermelon not a variety like other establishments have. All my kids ate were the chips. My confusion is how did I spent $50 when we didn’t have meals? The individual that rings you up at the register doesn’t allow you to see your bill so you know you’re being charged accordingly. Unsure if we will return next year due to this experience.
