Everything is superb. Best BBQ joint I’ve found north of the Mason-Dixon, and its in my town! Really like the brisket, baby back ribs, pulled pork, and of course, the onion loaf.

I recently visited The Rib House in East Haven and had a bit of a mixed experience.
First, I want to say that our server Jessica was very pleasant and attentive, and the service overall was great. The drinks were also pretty good. I’d give them about an 8 out of 10, so no complaints there.
Where things became frustrating was with the Build Your Own burger pricing. The base burger (1/2 lb charbroiled beef) was $14.95, which seemed reasonable at first. However, I was surprised to see how quickly the price climbed once a few basic toppings were added.
Here’s how the burger ended up breaking down:
Base burger: $14.95
Bacon: $6.00
Fried egg: $4.00
American cheese: $1.95
Mayo: $1.00
That brought the burger to $27.90 before tax, which is nearly double the base price for what most people would consider a fairly standard bacon, egg, and cheese burger.
I understand charging for add-ons, but $6 for bacon and $4 for a fried egg feels excessive, and it was surprising to see the cost climb that high so quickly.
Overall, the service was great and the drinks were solid, but the burger pricing left me pretty disappointed. It is safe to say that if I were to return to this restaurant, I would not be selecting a burger again.

This was a perfect place to satisfy our BBQ craving during the wintertime! As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with the smell of their delicious cooking. We were really big fans of their ribs, pulled pork Mac, and steak and cheese eggrolls. They’ve been making the same homemade recipes for 30+ years and I hope they never change a thing! What an East Haven gem. Even the cheesecake was homemade and so fluffy. All of the staff we met were incredibly welcoming and nice to talk to. We’ll be back!!

Came here from out of town with my family to get something to eat. Figured I’d get the ribs since it was a rib house. They didn’t disappoint at all. The sauce was amazing , but the meat was so tender and delicious. I’d definitely recommend the ribs if you have never tried them.

We use to go to Rib House every week, then they moved. I was driving through the downtown area of East Haven and saw the restaurant sign right next to the Fire House. My husband and I went the very next day. The Ribs and Onion brick were just the same as I remembered. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The waitress was great and we were served very quickly. We will be back many more times.. ❤️
