pretty delicious food! their spicy concoction that they put into your sauces is surprisingly spicy so watch out.

only have 1 man’s and 1 woman’s bathrooms though so it might be hard to get hold of during rush hours.

oh right the chopsticks could be a bit better as some small pieces came off during dinner.

There are 3 locations in Orange County but my favorite location is Irvine. The second location would be in Costa Mesa because they do serve outdoor I can bring my fur baby. I love hot pot in general but I must say Mokkoji hot pot still my number 1 hot pot place out of all. I love their Fire Crab Soup Base which no other hot pot has this flavor. I normally ordered the Surf & Turf which they offer a large beef plate but you would pick your beef choice of cuts and the price is different as well depend on what cut you choose. Beside the beef plate it came with seafood plate contain half lobster, scallops, salmon, white gulf shrimps and shrimps paste. As for appetizer you can pick between garlic shrimps or something else. But because I always get garlic shrimp so I wouldn’t remember what are there other choices. Come with drinks and desserts as well. But this time I just ordered the combination of beef and shrimp since that’s what I felt like at that moment. Also they offer unlimited greens, but not Enoki Mushrooms or Tofu, ect….

Pretty good Shabu Shabu bar. The location is pretty small so it is pretty difficult to sit a party of 6 or more at a table. They also require the whole party to be there before they will seat you. We ended up sitting at the bar, which was fine as everyone gets their own shabu shabu pot. The Ponzu and Goma sauces were pretty good. When you order meat it comes with vegetables and udon noodles. I was told you can order additional greens for no additional charge, but I was too full after eating all the meat (ordered XL size of the Toro) that I didn’t get to take advantage of that. The broth, sauces and vegetables came out almost immediately, while the meat took about 15 to 20 minutes to arrive this was at Dinnertime 6pm Monday on Thanksgiving week so they were a little busy. When the meat came out the quality and the taste was great the Toro came dressed with what look like garlic and sesame oil. The meat was extremely flavorful. I would say if you like fattier meats and flavor go for the Toro. I would like to note that the meal comes with a bowl of rice. I didn’t end up eating the rice since it came out pretty wet with a mashed potato like consistency, which some people might enjoy. Just not me. For the price and quality I will be coming back here hopefully on a less busy day.

Met some friends here for the first time. Food overall was good but not substantially better than some other places I have been to. It is very overpriced , especially have to pay extra for broths and they are not extraordinarily special. Definitely cant eat shabu without the broth… dont recommend the Sukiyaki broth, kinda sweet dashi soup base. Service was average, even they forgot our deserts…

First time having Shabu and it was amazing. We had the brisket and the house meat as well. Both incredible. Great service and atmosphere. It gets really busy though so double check before you go and get on a list.

This restaurant offers a unique twist on the traditional Japanese dish of thinly sliced meat and vegetables cooked in a broth. You can choose from different types of broth, such as spicy miso, pork bone, or sukiyaki, and customize your own sauces with hot drops and other condiments. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, especially the Flat Iron meat, which is tender, juicy, and flavorful. You can also enjoy a variety of starters, drinks, and desserts, such as garlic shrimp, sake, and mochi ice cream. I recommend the 2 set, which includes a starter, a drink, and a dessert for a reasonable price. Mokkoji Shabu Shabu is not only a restaurant, but also an experience. You can have fun cooking your own food at the table, sharing with your friends and family, and enjoying the cozy and modern atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, and the portions are generous. Mokkoji Shabu Shabu is one of my favorite shabu shabu places in the area, and I’m sure you’ll love it too. Don’t miss this opportunity to try something different and delicious

There are many shabu-shabu restaurants, but this place has the advantage of letting you eat just the amount you want, rather than being an all-you-can-eat spot. The service is decent, and while there’s nothing particularly special, it’s a comfortable and reliable place to enjoy a meal in the neighborhood. I recommend it for a casual, local dining experience.

Great Shabu Shabu place as a healthier dinner option when dining out. Meat quality is decent, vegetable offerings are fresh and bountiful. The rice texture could be better, it’s a bit dry and mushy, and the broth and sauce lack slightly in depth comparing to Shabu Shabu you can get in Japan.

Overall good value, for ~$30 you get meat, tofu, veggies, udon, rice, broth and complimentary tea.

One of the tastiest spot for Sukiyaki. I always have their spicy sukiyaki soup base with otoro fat belly meat. The meat is dipped with garlic, onions and sauce which makes it more tasteful. I also love their peanut and raw egg dipping sauces.

The restaurant is a bit small for party more than 4; therefore, reservation is helpful. Try to avoid peak times as this place is popular in Irvine.

The food was amazing, the experience was even more interesting and their staff are very friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time and food. The place is cozy and fun. It was our first time having shabu-shabu dish and it was great. Our waiter was very kind and he helped us figuring out what to order and we were very happy with everything we ordered. Definitely check this place out!
