Great local spot for vegans and anyone wanting fresh smoothies or juices!

First off, the staff at Sugar Apple Organic Cafe are super helpful and lovely to interact with. There was one for making food on the day we went and she held down the fort like a pro. The food came out quickly and everything is made to order right in front of you.

One small note about the cafe, it’s super small on the inside. So if you have a larger party it’s best to grab multiple tables outside or get your orders to-go. Also, the bathroom is very small so if you have a wheelchair, walker, or just a need for space then you won’t find that here.

My partner ordered the Peaceful Tempeh which comes with a side salad. I ordered the FLT which is a riff on a BLT. The produce was very fresh and the sandwiches had a lot of flavor. I wish mine came with a side as I ended up being a little hungry afterwards. Just something to note if you’re getting a sandwich with an appetite – pick an option with a side or just multiple sandwiches. I didn’t get a smoothie or juice but I did see many others get them and they all seemed quite happy.

There is also a cute market attached to the cafe where you can buy vegan products. I’d happily go back and order another menu item. If you’re in the area and have dietary needs or just want something plant forward this place is worth a stop!

Friendly service and food was awesome – wholesome and vegan and fresh. Especially enjoyed the banana + blueberry smoothie and veggie patty on a seeded bun with a large side salad and delicious dressing. Ask about “Chomp” , the cute resident lizard who hangs out in their succulent garden. He’s pretty rad

I would give this over 5 stars if I could!!! Absolutely incredible vegan entrees, I was completely blown away from the first bite all the way through. Healthy, tasty, INCREDIBLE food that I will undoubtedly come to again if and when I’m back in Key West. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!

We loved our sandwiches. Gluten-free reuben and Italian. So satisfying! Also the smoothie made of organic fruit, we got cherry one and it was very tasty. I appreciate the Gluten-free bread and variability of add-ons. But maybe there could be more soy-free options? But everything is vegan, very well done and fresh and mostly organic, which makes it gem of the area, and of course at the same time you can do healthy groceries which is rare here too. Get the fresh sea moss made by local producer! Its good for you and them too. The store is loaded by great products! Friendly staff and good service.

Sugar Apple in Key West is a cozy, all-vegan café that feels like a hidden gem. The menu features tasty options like grilled tofu, fresh salads, and smoothies made from organic ingredients. The vibe is relaxed, with books available to enjoy while you dine. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making you feel right at home. Plus, there’s an attached market for organic groceries. The only downside – plastic cutlery feels out of place in such an eco-friendly spot.
Overall, it’s a delightful experience worth returning to!

This place is awesome. For the size of the store, they really carry a lot of stuff. If you don’t see what you want, ask for it because it’s probably there somewhere. The cafe is great. The Angela smoothie — esp when made by Angela — is one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had. Thank you!!

Came to this Mom and Pop holistic store during my recent visit to Key West.

I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of natural loose leaf teas, soaps, oils and other healthy alternative natural products they had, many of which I had not seen before and other stores I have visited.

We also had some of their fresh juices from their

Not just the food at Sugar Apple Organic Café is 100% vegan, but also the owners, Phillip Crumbley and Tina Triggiani. This super friendly couple smiled when I commented that they may have more longevity as vegans than anyone else that I have ever met. Back in the ’70s, when Tina told Phillip that she was going on a 100% plant diet, Phillip surprised her by saying “Me too. I’m all in.”
