This is my go-to place when I want some fresh fish. Flavored to perfection. Good service, portions and prices. Chill laid back spot. Plenty of parking.

People standing outside said the food was good so we tried it. Ordered a fried whiting plate. Fish was not fresh. It tasted and smelled like it was recooked. Mac and cheese look like it was old. Also ordered a fried chicken plate. Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way. Everything was greasy. Threw the food away smh.

I was disappointed with both the quality of customer service and the food. You can taste the grease on the fried fish. Their sides aren’t the best. Flies had taken up residency at the store. They weren’t concerned about dealing with the fly issue. Overall, a 3 out of 10. I gave them a three because I had a poor experience more than once. I will not repeat.

My 1st time eating here was last week. I ordered the same thing I ordered today …. 3pc fried whiting, collard greens, & string beans. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm . The pieces of fish were bigger than ALL the other restaurants in the area. Not only were they big, but they were fresh & meaty. I know this because my job is on Laburnum & I support all the black business in the area when I don’t pack my food from home.
I went back today out of curiosity to see if they could do it again. Do it again they DID. So I had to sit down & write a review(because I read them) about my experience. Hawks, on Williamsburg Rd is better than good. If you want some fresh, meaty fish, & delicious sides for your money, they are the place to go. Thank you Hawks, for making me feel good about the money I spent. Keep up the good work .

Ordered whiting and trout plates and both were delicious!! Service was excellent too, lady at the front desk was wonderful. Mac n Cheese was okay but that fish was cooked to perfection. Chefs kiss! Going back soon!!

When I visit Richmond from Dallas, this is my first stop when I leave the airport! My family already knows that I will see them after I stop by Hawks and they never disappoints!! I can always count on fresh trout and sides. The sweet tea sets my tastebuds on fire! It was just the right amount of sweetness to accompany the fish. This time my niece got a side of the delicious and hot french fries but I didn’t I just wanted fish. I was greeted with courtesy and friendly hospitality. The new location is clean and very spacious. I definitely will continue to patronize this business whenever I’m in town and refer others!! (This picture was taken in the dark car)

The employee at the register was very rude I placed a order online while in the parking lot then went right inside to let them know I wanted to eat inside I also informed them I wanted the fish cooked soft to which he said ok I sat at a booth while they prepared the fish as time passed I went back to the counter only to find they put my food in a box and bagged it up I explained I wanted to eat there and the YN took my food out the bag threw it on a tray and said you can eat it here or take it with you that’s no way to treat a customer in fact I know I’m just one person but if they will do it to me they will do it to you also this isn’t the first time I’ve had a problem but I promise it’s the last I’ve tried to be supportive of them but I can’t do it again this is the Williamsburg rd location I stand behind everything I’ve written
