Compact restaurant with an unassuming vibe serving sushi, tempura & other classic dishes.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve had in Europe. I was lucky to have found it by chance during my business trip, got the last seat that day, and ended up eating there two days in a row. The food was fantastic and authentic, as it was made by a real Japanese chef who has been doing this for 40 years. Sitting there watching him made sushi with all his mind made me feel like I’m in Japan. He was very friendly to me. The waiter is also super friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here every time I visit Geneva.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Nagomi.
I had the pleasure of dining at this Japanese restaurant located near the train station in Geneva, and it was an exceptional experience. The menu is impressively extensive, offering a wide variety of fish and seafood for sashimi and sushi. Every selection I made was of outstanding quality, with prime freshness that truly stood out.
The miso soup and green tea were perfect companions to the meal, offering a comforting warmth on a cold day. The interior is simple and unpretentious, as one might expect from an authentic Japanese establishment, but I particularly appreciated the counter seating. It was a delight to watch the sushi chef at work, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.
Finally, the price-to-value ratio was very good, making it a highly satisfying meal overall. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking quality Japanese cuisine in Geneva.

Exceptional! We visited the sushi restaurant and came in feeling like we’re transported back to Japan. DELICIOUS food – great sushi but even the appetizers were amazing. The wagyu tataki melted in my mouth, I wanted to order 10 more if I can, proper Japanese wagyu. The miso tuna and butter scallop were also yum. Would 100% recommend.

Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant – we had a great experience. The tempura was absolutely delicious. Great sake selection. Cozy atmosphere, wonderful service. What a treat to be able to enjoy this in Geneva! We’ll be back.

The place is small. And I mean tiny. It seats maybe ten people. You need to book well in advance, and be prepared to pay for the quality of the food and the whole experience, which is impeccable. We went to the side of the restaurant where you only eat tempura ( the other side serves arguably the best sushi in Geneva), where a fantastic chef fries the daily menu just in front of you. The ingredients were well chosen, we had a vegetable and seafood menu, and everything is as fresh as it gets. It is fascinating to be able to observe the entire process of preparation of the different kinds of food. Be ready to spend at least a couple of hours in here, since the chef does everything on the spot. The end result is nothing short of delicious. There is a limited but equally as delicious choice of desserts. I would definitely put it among the best restaurants in town, truly an experience worthy of your time and money.

Best sushi in Geneva and very authentic. Amazing choice on the menu. One should go and explore new products. Everything was prepared delicately and items were very fresh. Reasonable price for the quality.

Nagomi Sushi
A gem of a Sushi place in central Geneva, not far from the Cornavin train station and in the Pâquis area of town.
This restaurant provides for the freshest and most succulent Sushi I have had in Geneva, with melt in your mouth fish spanning the range of subtle flavours this kind of cuisine offers.
This restaurant is very small and you definitely have to reserve your seat in advance. Its intimate atmosphere and simple but elegant settings are transporting you out of Geneva and into Japan.
The best in my view is to get a counter table seat to see the Chef at work, expertly cutting and preparing every morsel of goodness.
Granted, this place is a bit on the pricey side but considering the freshness of the fish, the attentive service and who is preparing the food right there in front of you, it is well worth going to.
Note the restaurant has sister ‘tempura’ restaurant that is also getting glowing reviews.

I wonder if the Genevoises know how lucky they are to have such an authentic Japanese restaurant!!!!! A tempura ya in Europe!?!?!?! We are from the San Francisco Bay Area California and there is no tempura ya where we come from. We came to Nagomi two days in a row, first to the sushi restaurant operated by the dad, then the tempura ya operated by the son. The tempura was cooked piece by piece in front of us, just like in Japan. Thank you for the amazing food.

Amazing sashimi! So fresh! My heart was happy! Their omakase menu was fulfilling so I think it was on par with their pricing. The chef was attentive, and he was willing to accompany personal needs. The girl staff was very nice and hard working.
There are two actually two different restaurants under the same name. One side was for omakase and tempura and the other one I think is the a la carte.
