At our Stephenville, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

First time for us. We pass by every day on our home and thought it was time to give them a look. We were not disappointed. We both ordered Shrimp Skewers and Hush Puppies. I got Coke Slaw. She got Broccoli. It came on a bed of rice with a small (and tasty) bread roll. Portions were good and the taste was great!! We’ll be back!

I haven’t been to Captain D’s since I was a teenager. My mom and I went and it was delicious, really hit the spot. Also I have to say your employee Tiona was so sweet and kind. If I had a business I would have scooped her up and hired her immediately. I was blown away by this young woman. She was wonderful!!!

So disappointing!! We are visiting town and heard good things about Captain D’s. We were the only car in line and had to wait 22 min. We were patient thinking at least our food would be fresh and hot. When our food finally came to the window we were assured that there was plenty of tarter, red sauce, ketchup, napkins and utensils in the bag. We got back to our hotel room and discovered only a ketchup packet in the bag. Coleslaw with no spoon! Our shrimp was dry and burnt. The few fries they gave me were hard and cold even with one ketchup. The hushpuppies were dry and old. I had to wash them down with hot flat Pepsi as the little bit of ice in my drink was melted.
The fish was edible although needed tarter sauce. We called to speak to manager but were informed that no manage was available. What a waste of $35.00.

Best service I’ve had in a very long time!! The employees that night were the greatest people I’ve ever met!! They were so friendly, courteous, worked together as a team! They were swamped that night in drive-thru, only 3 people working and they showed amazing teamwork and that there are still wonderful people in this world! Don’t change, be you forever!! They deserve a bonus and a raise for their exceptional service and hospitality!! May God Bless You All!! Thank you guys!!

Friends told us the fish was very good. Went in today and I was blown away. The people were awesome and place was so neat and man oh man the menu selections. I settled on 4 pc fried catfish fries coleslaw hush puppies. Waiting for my order I saw funnel cake sticks and ordered that too. Lol Yum yum!!

The girl with the black and blonde hair braid extensions couldn’t even act like she wanted to be there, grouchy attitude, super lazy movement behind the counter, absolutely a terrible representation of the business. The food was fine but she ruined it with her attitude and laziness.

They were obviously understaffed, the lady at the counter complained that she’d been there almost 12 hours. They were out of many items. Chicken being one of them. The oysters were horrible . This is our worst visit to this location. The employees tried their best to make the best of what they had, but it still wasn’t a pleasant trip for us.

Absolutely the filthiest place I have ever been inside of. Should be shut down. Ordered and paid for 2 meals but once we saw how disgusting the condiment station, drink station, and dining room floor and tables were, we just left without asking for a refund. No excuse for the condition of this location.

My mom and I went there may 5th 2023 and the manager didn’t know what went on my platter and a new guy just started but he was sweet and so the shrimp was cooked too long okra wasn’t done enough they didn’t know where the crab was so I had to substitute. My mom got 1 fish like 4 shrimp. It was not good and I usually love this place.
