I’m a little upset this has been a few miles from me for 15 years and I’ve only recently visited. I’ve had Korean food a number of times and this has been overall the best experience! When you order from the Korean menu you receive generous banchan (it may change each visit), the miso soup I had on Valentine’s Day was the best I’ve ever had-deep, rich flavorful broth! The kimchi jjigae (stew) and ttoekbokki(stir fried rice cakes) are our absolute favorite items so far. Please be patient if it’s busy, it is a tiny employee group, it’s worth it!!

I have been to Sura a number of times in the last few years of living in Michigan. Each time was a little bit worse than the next. My boyfriend and I took the chance to give them another shot for our valentines dinner, it was not great at all. Super understaffed, and food was overpriced for what we got. I always order the Kalbi Platter when dining here and am used to getting all the side dishes you get with it as well as the platter itself, my boyfriend got the spicy ramen. Not only did our food come out nearly 1 hour into service we didn’t get drinks or waited on for the first 30 minutes of being there. I paid $37 for my Kalbi Platter, that was only just the meat! Nothing else. This was super disappointing as I had asked the wait staff where all the side dishes were and said they would be out shortly, THEY NEVER CAME! We were super disappointed by our evening there and will not be giving them another chance. I understand Holidays can be difficult and busy, but this was just aweful. We paid and left nearly 2 hours later. I should not have to be charged $37 for one meal that was a small amount of meat.

Excellent food and service. Hidden Gem at Texas Corners. Delicious sides and entree. The vegetarian options are endless. Highly recommend the sweet potato roll.

Great food and kind service. I got take out, pictured is the tuna crunch burrito and the rainbow roll. I enjoyed everything, what I had is enough for 2 meals. I plan to return to try some other items. Give this place a try!

So, yes, it’s cold outside, but this restaurant doesn’t know how to turn its heat on. The whole place was freezing, so they use lil space heaters to heat the place. They’re positioned all over!! It’s not enuf to warm the whole restaurant!!! Turn on ur heat!! Then I went to the bathroom and it was evident the toilets hadn’t been cleaned anytime recently. The stain around the water line has been there for a good bit. Ewwww!!
Next, we get our food and the yellowfin tuna sashimi we ordered was FROZEN!! We let it sit for a bit but cuz it was soooo cold in the restaurant, the tuna never got to room temp. We mentioned the coldness to the waitress, which brought someone from the bk out to chat w/us. We told him the sashimi was frozen and he told us “that means it’s fresh.”! There r ways to bring something frozen to room temp, ie, edible. Super easy! Just put raw meat into plastic bag and place in warm water. Thaws up perfect! This sashimi was inedible, but we were told “it’s fresh”. I’ll never eat at this restaurant again.

Jess was the only server and gave us timely, efficient service. She explained how the K BBQ worked vs their platters. We ended up going with the platters. The good was amazing. The lemon Ginger salad dressing should be bottled and sold in stores. See the pictures. We added Panjeon, Japchae, and Gomtang. You can even see the other family was enjoying too.

I had such a great time here! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the bulgogi and pork belly platters. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome right away! I also loved the cozy atmosphere — it’s casual but still feels special. Perfect spot to grab a meal with friends or family. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

Very disappointed as I have came here before. I dined at least five times here, but this last time myself and my partner waited 20 min before waters were brought to us and then another 15 before our orders were taken. They had a few tables and a few mobile orders and seemed to be understaffed.
We ordered two sushi rolls and a bibimbop. We waited around 30 min for the sushi which came out but then another 30 min go by and we haven’t gotten our ordered food, but a server (who I’m assuming is the manager or owner) gave us a few free items because of the wait. That ticked me off because why are we getting food items prepared before our actual meal?
Bibimbop is not a hard dish as I have made it before. It’s literally known for being a simple dish. Should not take that long no matter how many orders behind it was.
We ended up just paying for what we ate and leaving without the bibimbop because we had already waited nearly 2 hours for one simple dish. We will be taking our business elsewhere like Sakura/Ziki for Sushi and Namson for Korean.

I usually plan on spending at least 50 dollars a person, but in all fairness we get a LOT of food and it is always worth the price.
The Sura Alaskan Roll, Bulgogi Platter, and Stir-fried rice cakes are always a staple at my table. The platter comes with side dishes that are always flavorful and welcome (pickled radish! <3).
If you enjoy sushi, Korean, or both, I absolutely recommend you taking a trip to Sura. My favorite time to go is around 11a-1pm.
