They are not welcoming to young people. My friends and I are in our late 20s and will come by after the local breweries close, and we always get these looks from the staff like we are bothering them just being there. No matter how polite we are, thats always the attitude we get no matter who joins us. So yeah we still get served drinks and yes it’s cheap, but the staff are just so rude that we usually sit outside in the back. If there was anywhere else open late and open consistently in Shawnee (looking at you ribbon room) then that’s where we’d go, but there isn’t so Betty’s it is. Be aware that sometimes they just close early on a whim. Who knows why.

This place is really a hidden gem in Shawnee. The wait staff was very friendly and even though we arrived 5 minutes before the grill closed, the food was excellent and the portions were great! It’s a very casual environment and kid-friendly with some bar games like battleship and connect 4 to keep them entertained. The jenga set needs replacing but overall it’s a great place!

Like the previous review below mine, the staff here didn’t like our group of young folks in their late 20’s. Also thought they may be racist since they kicked the only few people of color out of the bar for no reason, when asked she said “because I’m the bar manager” this was the first and last time here and wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here. The bar manager seemed like she was on something maybe… she was very jittery and couldn’t keep still… very concerning & unprofessional.

I strictly came here because my name is Betty and my last name starts with a C. So it was fate. I was expecting a lot from this place based on the good reviews. However, it just seemed like a normal bar to me with average bar food. The Jamaican flavored wings tho are amazing and very spicy . Much good flavor there. Other than not, nothing special and just average.

This is a true hidden gem of Shawnee. No matter what night we have had (fancy dinner, yard work, etc.) the service here has always been welcoming. It is a great atmosphere and welcoming no matter what, they just want to serve good food with a good time.

After my initial review of this place I saw that they were lauded for their tots. With a need to search out all the tot places in KC I decided to revisit, and I’m glad I did. These were some wonderfully made tots with some great sauce options to choose from and no limit on how many! With a kind barkeep and great tots I’d say this place is worth checking out, especially if you hit it up before going to the wonderful Servaes Brewery down the road
