We sat by the window, enjoyed mimosas and hot chocolate, and had a quiet anniversary brunch together. The setting definitely delivered on aesthetics.
I attempted to order a build-your-own omelette but was told, “we don’t do that here,” so I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant with fries instead. My husband ordered the house omelette with toast and chicken sausage. Because of dietary restrictions, I was hoping to order something simple like a customized omelette or shrimp and grits without ham gravy, but flexibility seemed limited.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the ambiance. The chicken salad itself tasted good but was too wet, soaking through the bottom of the croissant and making it mushy. The chicken sausage had a gamey flavor that we didn’t enjoy, the toast was tough, and although my husband requested his omelette be fully cooked, it was still underdone and runny.
Judith, one of our waitresses, was very kind and attentive. She graciously offered drinks on the house to help us celebrate our anniversary, which we truly appreciated. Her thoughtfulness stood out, even if the food didn’t quite wow us.
Overall, the atmosphere and service were highlights, but the food fell short of expectations.
Unfortunately, the service was quite weak. We had to wait because we weren’t noticed when we arrived, and the regular coffee was only lukewarm, not hot enough. These details really affected the experience.
With better attention to service, this could be a great spot.
The atmosphere is one of refined elegance, featuring soft lighting and classical architectural touches that truly make the setting beautiful. It manages to feel both sophisticated and welcoming, perfect for a special occasion or an intimate dinner.
