Have been going here for years. Great food, polite and hard working staff! One of our favorite local places to go to have the coldest beers and best bar food in this area of Lawrence. Watch the game, play some pool and visit with locals, don’t come here if you want fancy fluff. Come here to have a good time with friends.

I took my daughter to West Coast on her 21st birthday on June 28th, 2023. Janae, the bartender, was amazing, fast , friendly service, and she was very helpful in trying to find drinks my daughter would like. There were a group of guys there that were good sports and helped to make my daughters night a good one. They bought her a couple of shots and were very sweet and respectful to her. I highly recommend this bar.

I used to hang out here in grad school in the early 2000s and remembered they had good burgers. I returned to have a West Coast Classic (with egg added) and onion rings and it did not disappoint! It’s just as tasty as I remember on those days I hung out with my friend that bartender here 22 years ago! Sometimes we build up things as better than they really are out of nostalgia, but the West Coast Saloon burger is not one of those things.

Fascinatingly repulsive. The bartender that makes food doesn’t wash his hands between making drinks and food, while making food bare handed, and is constantly touching his pants, shirt, and face, and everything else behind the bar, while fingering all of your food.
The only recourse I assumed was that my immune system would get a good workout by simply eating a disgusting hamburger and a salad, which was possibly three or four leaves of romaine, and the rest just chunks of white onion and shredded cheese.
I know that dive bars don’t have really any semblance of standards for food service, regardless of location, but the leniency of this place was astounding.

I have lived in Lawrence for nearly 10 years and haven’t been here until today and I gotta say West Coast Saloon has the best burgers in Lawrence and in a 50 mile radius. Servers and cook are so kind and the atmosphere is old school and to die for.
