I don’t have a lot of positive comments about the Moxy, but the diner/breakfast spot off to the side of their lobby is a definite plus. This was a last-minute stop on my way out this past Wednesday morning in the 7am hour. The Moxy is a party hotel, essentially, so I wasn’t too surprised to find myself the only customer of the establishment when I wandered in. There were two women manning the fort, who were both very nice and told me to sit anywhere; I chose a comfortable booth and began reviewing the menu.

Pretty standard stuff here; lots of omelet and pancake options, etc. I got a little frisky and ordered the Cinnamon Apple Pancakes off the seasonal specials menu, along with some scrambled eggs and toast (got to get the sweet and savory in). The pancakes were really good; they’re doing something right with those. My only minor nitpick was that because you’re cooking the cinnamon into the batter, it burns on the bottom and you end up with a few pieces of tough stickiness, if that makes sense – my primary gripe with homemade cinnamon rolls as well. Still overall a recommend. I was probably too full to order everything that I did, but the eggs were also very decent; on the damp side, which is my preference, and didn’t need any seasoning, which is rare for me.

The service was excellent; given that I was the only person in there it would have been pretty egregious if it wasn’t, but everyone was attentive and kept the coffee flowing. My food showed up within a few minutes and I was in and out quickly, which was great since I was on a grown-up business trip and accordingly on a schedule. No issues here at all.

If you’re not a guest at the Moxy I imagine this place is a bit under the radar, especially since it’s not right on the main drag (it’s only accessible I think through the Moxy lobby and/or a subtle side entrance). Especially in November, it’s hard to find decent spots that are still open – if you’re seeking sustenance right around sunrise, you could do a lot worse than this.

Stopped in to support the owner of the well known “Ray Rays”. Good classic Americana stayled dinner which is small and quaint. Staff was pleasant and served up some great coffee. Ordered up the following:

-Cream chipped beef over toast w/ two eggs over easy
-Eggs, pancake and Ham

Got the orders but bacon came instead of ham.. One grill chef doing his best.

Creamed chipped beef was spot on, pancakes had great flavor buy were a bit thick. Batter may have needed a bit more water.

Wait time took a bit, but enjoyed a second coffee. Single chef was doing all he could. I would request that the original “Loco Moco” be added to the menu!

Christie is the absolute best! The food is great and the price varies from $9-$15 per meal. Portions are large and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is a 50s diner vibe with a modern twist. As long as Christie is here, this is where I will be for breakfast!

Food is good, the atmosphere is great and the staff is very nice. There is outside seating for nice days and it is the only breakfast place that is right at the boardwalk that I am aware off if you’re not staying at a hotel. I love that they didn’t use any disposable plastic dishes and the straws are compostable!!
However, it is a diner and not a coffee shop. Knowing the Virginia Beach coffee scene, it was very disappointing to see that there are no espresso-based drinks available. No substitutions are available, so there is not a lot of flexibility.
The hotel it is connected to has great vibes and looks like an awesome stay.

Visited VA Beach the 1st week of April. The entire week I just wanted a hearty breakfast, not some hotel bagels, waffles and cereal. Halfway through my week, I had to try something. After searching the strip, I decided to send my daughter over to Moxy to try out Belvedere (To Go). This was the best breakfast we had our entire week on the beach. The food was prepared just as ordered. In the pic is the breakfast bowl I had. The grits were a side order, but I dumped it into the box with the bowl. This bowl was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned really well; even the cheese grits was tasty. My daughter had the French toast, also with a side of grits (pictured as well). Scrambled eggs and sausage. Everything tasted phenomenal and the prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Check out the menu for the specifics and stop in if you just want a nice hearty breakfast. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely make this my go to spot whenever I visit VA Beach.

Only had breakfast but I wish I stayed here. Beautiful property, amazing lobby, right on the ocean but has a pool on site. Breakfast service was great – greeted by the cook upon entry and taken care of by wait staff, the food was served quickly and was exactly as ordered. Clean and well-lighted, the restaurant is long and offers a view onto the street and out to the ocean.

This is such a hidden gem! It was busy but I didn’t mind to wait. The manager ran such a smooth rush. She was running the grill and juggling with a new waitress that was literally shaking. It was good food and we will definitely go back. P.S. The manager deserves a raise!!!

Waited almost an hour and the waitress i had said i was Waiting almost 15 mins and like im the last person to order food cause they’re closing soon. Honestly, i understand that they was back up but ignoring a costumer for 15 mins or almost an hour is ridiculous. Others got ordered while i was still waiting to be served. They should of planned everything better and take care of the costumers not having them wait for nearly an hour. And its my first time here too. Not satisfied at all. Im very disappointed.

Belvedere Coffee Shop is a Virginia Beach gem! The new location inside the Moxy Hotel is stunning, with bright, warm vibes and unbeatable boardwalk ocean views. The Restaurant Week special was amazing—biscuits & gravy, fruit-stacked waffles, eggs, bacon, grits, and more for just $15! My husband and I split it, and it was delicious. Our server, Thomas, was super friendly and quick, making the experience even better. The retro vibe with cobalt blue accents, counter seating, and cozy booths made it feel classic yet fresh. Highly recommend for a perfect beachside breakfast!

Excellent diner. We had breakfast here both mornings we stayed in town. Christine was great. Helping serve and cook so she was very busy but she still made sure we were taken care of.
