This little bar has been a campus staple for many years, I’ve watched a lot of local bands perform here and the small venue hasn’t let me down. Always a different crowd, good drinks, and fun atmosphere. Cool place to hangout with friends!

One of the oldest bars in the entire area that’s still going strong! Hell my Dad and my grandfather even when he was young was a regular here. Use to be rather a small bar but they bought the other side and the place is looking amazing with now 3 times the space if not more with just as expanded back area! I don’t go as often as I use to but I highly recommend this place any day of the week to anyone old or new to the area. Located downtown by campus on 13th and Patterson. Awesome staff, great atmosphere, good fun times even with karaoke, and all the free popcorn and peanuts you can eat to soak up those drinks lol. Keep up the great work Max’s!

I love maxs it’s so fun BUT the bartenders are bad. they take way too long to make drinks. for a college bar you should be hiring bartenders who are skilled not 21 year olds who are taking 10 mins to make one drink mean while 100 people are in line. especially if there’s a cover.

Had an 80th birthday party for my brother there. He used to bartend there 45+ years ago. I should have video’d the Bloody Mary showing probably a dozen ingredients. The food was good and the staff was very friendly.

Heard the place got remodeled and I was really concerned. Just came by today for the first time in years, and thankfully it’s the same vibe as always. Glad to see the chess table and string lights made it through the remodel! Cheers to another 100 years of beers at Max’s!

DIDN’T KNOW RACIAL PROFILING AND SEGREGATION WAS WELCOME IN EUGENE – WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN. Bouncer – white man in a onesie – targeted my Black friend from the rest of the (white) group of women, and barred her from entry. He then verbally assaulted her, spat racial epithets, and banned her for life from the establishment! This was a horrible experience.

Bouncer was racist. Separated my friend from the rest of our group because she was Black and would not let her back in. And then when she expressed concerns about racism said that she is banned from the bar for life. Disappointing. DO NOT COME!!
