Well, this sucks. From bringing dozens of people into the bar for their live music, having my birthday party here, suggesting this place above any other bar in the area for years…. After yesterday, I’ll be finding a new suggestion.
About one month ago my friends and I went to Willowick on a random week night. Not many people there, whatever. At the end of the night, I go to close out my tab. It’s an older(ish) woman at the bar, brown hair, not my original bartender. I come up with my card in hand, asking to close out. The woman searches in the computer, can’t find me. After a moment or two of back and forth, the woman says “Well it’s not in our system, take it was a win”.
So really quick here, the worker in charge of charging customers what they owe tells me my bill isn’t even rang in the system and take it as a win.
Now let’s go to yesterday 7/19/2025. Just get off a 10 hour shift, my best friend just got broken up with, and I’m ready to spend a pretty penny at my local bar. I suggest Willowick, because that is always my suggestion. I order two shots and a drink, the bar is pretty full. Bartender grabs my card and now it gets weird.
Morgan, the bartender, starts aggressively and loudly accusing me of completely walking out on my tab.
Mind you, I didn’t walk out on my tab. So not really feeling guilty at this moment, and why would I back go somewhere I ‘purposely’ stole from?
So Morgan is doing her humiliation ritual on me, half the bar now looking at me like I’m a thief. As I explain to Morgan exactly what happened, she’s saying “mmmhmm mhmm” and walking away as I’m talking. She’s tries to say, again, that I’m lying and that I talked to some guy not a woman. I explain myself again, word for word, exactly what happened. I tell her I was with 3 other people who would say the same exact thing.
So, I paid my tab from last time and last night. I drank what I ordered and left. Here’s where Willowick lost me.
Morgan has only worked there for two months, my family and I have been customers for years. Never would I ever steal from Willowick Lounge when it was been a staple in my community, my friends and my family for so long. To go in last night and be humiliated in front of the bar, accused of stealing and lying after choosing Willowick to relax after a bad day.
If Morgan had just left the aggression and hostility out of it, I’d have no reason to write this. I come to places to be served with courtesy, instead I was treated like scum on the bottom of that girls foot /:
Social distancing was a joke because there was none with that in mind after 47 minutes we received our burger but nothing else which was simply fish on a fish fry night no refills on the drinks either we finally left after it hit 1 hour.
