A really good steak and cheese sub for only $12.95?! Yup, that’s exactly what this place offers. Every sub is $12.95 which seems weird but I’m ok with that considering most joints charge around $20 for a steak and cheese. The steak is diced up really fine and the meat to cheese ratio is practically perfect. The bread is toasted perfectly as well. I was only able to eat one half so you can definitely split this with someone to save even more money. My cousin grabbed the buffalo wings (6 for about $10) I don’t think those were really worth it but only because I prefer crispy wings over saucy. These were a good size though. The chipotle mayo is also fantastic. I got it on the side but it will definitely be part of my order every time I get a steak and cheese. Overall, definitely worth it and I will definitely be going back and can’t wait to try the other things they offer like chicken tenders. Really good curly fries and you get a good amount for the price.

I tried this deli randomly on uber eats and have ordered a ton of times since. Their buffalo chicken wrap is literally the best I’ve ever had. Add gorgonzola & onion and it’s a 10/10 every single time. Huge portion and always fresh!

Couldn’t agree more with all those who shared their experience at Sunrise, particularly the steak and cheese sub that was totally in line with I expect while visiting Philly. The generous portion along with the sautéed mushrooms and onions and red peppers accompanied by light mayo and jalapeño was outstanding. And counter to what smart ass wrote they didn’t offer to pay pay me for my enthusiastic 5 stars review. Honestly I’d give them 7 if it was optional.

I also want to say that Sunrise Deli genuinely has some of the best sandwiches in West Haven, Connecticut. I’ve been a regular customer for a long time because I love the food, the quality, and the convenience, especially before work. That’s why this situation stood out to me it was out of character compared to my usual experiences there.
On the day this happened, I called in my order like I normally do a steak and cheese, a ham and cheese, and a coffee. When I arrived, my food was already ready, so I picked up my bag and then walked over to the gas station side of the building to grab a few snacks. The gas station is a separate business from Sunrise Deli, but it shares the same location.
While checking out on the gas station side, the cashier there asked me if I had paid for my coffee. I answered yes, assuming it had been included with my deli order as it normally is. The cashier then spoke to the deli employee and checked the receipt, and that’s when it was discovered that the coffee hadn’t been rung up with my order.
It was an honest mistake, but in that moment I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, especially because I’ve always been a paying and respectful customer who supports Sunrise Deli regularly. I never intended to take anything without paying, and once everything was reviewed, it was clear that it was simply a misunderstanding.
I truly appreciate that you reached out and apologized personally. That meant a lot to me and showed professionalism and integrity. Mistakes happen, and what really matters is how they are handled afterward.
Sunrise Deli has always been one of my favorite places in West Haven, and I don’t believe one incident should erase all the good experiences I’ve had there. I’m glad we were able to squash this and move forward.

The people are friendly, but more importantly, the food is amazing. The steak and cheese is one of the best around. Their BLT is amazing. Quesadillas are great. Plus their daily specials are also very tasty.
On a side note, I read the reviews and any bad ones are nonsense. They are clean, friendly, and delicious. Food takes time to cook when it’s freshly made. Be patient, people.
