The sushi in the service was out of the park. I had an absolutely lovely dinner here with friends and my husband. The sushi was so extremely fresh and very well prepared. The wings were absolutely perfectly crispy and the sauce was to die for. I will definitely be coming back. This is a perfect date for somebody special.

I was honestly disappointed when trying this place. I love Japanese food, but from the appetizers to the main course, nothing really hit the mark. The egg roll appetizer was the best part of the meal, and even that was just okay.

My friend and I both ordered main dishes, and for the price point, the quality just wasn’t there. I ordered the chicken fried rice, but what I got was more like creamy rice with chicken. There was nothing “fried rice” about it, and the chicken was very chewy. My friend ordered the Kobe Beef Style dish, and the beef was so tough she couldn’t even chew it. My waitress was good! She was attentive so that was a positive!

For the cost compared to what we received, it just wasn’t worth it. I’ll be sticking with my reliable go-to, Miyabi, which is right up the road. The prices are more affortable, and the food tastes so much better.

Family wanted to try a different sushi place, went in and hit red flag number 1…. Place was almost empty… usually a sign of something not great. Sat down anyway… menu is nothing special, smaller and fewer options than the normal places in Excelsior, Chan and EP…but dbl the price for the items they do have. Nothing on Yumi’s menu is different that is worth paying double for. Got a few rolls, everyone felt pretty mediocre and the kids asked if we could go somewhere else . Would not repeat- hard no.

AS A SUSHI CONNESUIOR I WILL LIVE AND DIE BY THEIR TITANIC ROLL!!!!!! Best sushi roll I’ve EVER EATEN!!!! And I’ve eaten at almost every spot here in Minnesota as well as some places in California and Texas… Their other special rolls are good too but TRY THAT TITANIC ROLL!!!!!!!! (It has lots of raw so if you arent a raw sushi eater.. well.. why are you eating sushi at all to be honest lol)… I LOVE IT!!!!!

My husband and I went tried out their maki sushi because we heard great things about them. First, their rolls are very thick and fills your mouth completely. I very much enjoyed the feeling, although you can ask for thinner slices if you want. So far, I have been here twice and really enjoyed their maki rolls. Normally, I like to eat a lot but an order of calamari and 3 rolls was enough food for my husband and me. The chefs are Hispanic and have great personality. Our server was also hospitable and was attentive to us.

I had a great experience at Yumi’s Restaurant, where we tried the Hot Knight and Double Dragon from their specialties, both of which I really enjoyed. We also had the Philly roll from their classics, which was good, and the crispy rice tuna, which was a delightful first for me. This was only my second time trying sushi, and after a disappointing first experience elsewhere, Yumi’s has restored my hope in sushi.

However, the service could use some improvement. One of the servers, who handled seating and water, was a bit careless. When the soy sauce pot spilled on our table, he simply said it was fine without cleaning it up. Additionally, we asked for a high chair for the baby, but he forgot to bring it.

Excellent sushi. Very generous roll sizes. Chicken Fried rice was a bit soy sauce heavy. Yakisoba noodles are very sweet for my taste, but still delightful.

The food is just okay, but it is just too overpriced. The food is not worth the price that they charged. I can eat the same quality some other Japanese restaurant with much less expensive.

I’m always impressed going to Yumi’s! Always try the specials!

This hot spot has literally changed Excelsior – everyone loves sushi now! What a fantastic addition to this town.

I’ve been coming to Yumi’s every time I’m in town and went tonight. We had the Tuna Crispy Rice appetizer with a Tonka Roll and K-Pop roll that was a special for the night. I’m an avid sushi lover, and my dad is a newbie, but we both absolutely loved the meal. Can’t go wrong with what you order!

Best sushi in the Midwest! I absolutely love this place and it’s my go-to for company and anyone who appreciates quality sushi. Pricey compared to most places in the area, but so worth it! Thanks for all the years of quality sushi, Yumis!
