As soon as we walked in, the server at the bar, Anthony, greeted us and remained attentive the entire night. We decided to eat at the bar and the drinks and food were amazing! I tasted nothing that I didn’t like. Top to bottom, all was tasty! Hibiscus Margherita, Lychee Martini, UES-cocktail, Yes, Yes, Yes! Duck with sweet potatoes, green beans and the chicken with carrots, and mashed potatoes, Yum, Yum, Yum! All ended with cheesecake and espresso martinis.

Came for the French onion, ordered the orecchiette broccoli with sausage and wow THAT BLEW OUR MINDS AWAY! The pasta dish was a perfect balance of cheese, garlic and the bitterness from the greens. IDk how they managed to infuse the garlic into every bite but wow that was the star of the show.
The French onion soup was great! The bread somehow stayed crispy despite being soaked for so long – and overall the soup was rich but not overtly salty.
Would def return.
We went as a group of 3 at 13.00 on a Tuesday and was immediately seated without reservations. Service took some time but that’s because there’s a lot of people and the staff was super busy back there – but they did their best and we felt well cared for!

This is a can’t miss spot if you love chicken pot pie. SO delicious and the green beans side special they had was also perfectly cooked. We walked in for a late lunch. This meal revived me on our nyc trip. The staff is also incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend and will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

The food came out a bit colder than expected, especially the calamari. The bread was toasted a bit too long, so it was a bit harder than I would like.
The salmon and the onions paired well with each other. The squid was tasty, just a bit cold and not crunchy

Excellent service that gives you home vibe, truly living up to its name. The chicken pot pie and breakfast spread are delicious, made right, and fresh! Great place for homey food and for hosting big party. We came as party of 20 and had a great experience. Will come back again.

It was really good, the food was amazing and so was the service. The HK burger was just perfect and the the steak was cooked on point. I would definitely recommend the chicken pot to try something different.

Very cozy restaurant in the middle of the UES. Our server was super friendly and attentive the entire visit. I shared the breakfast platter and it was fantastic, coming out with just the right amount of food. I also got the strawberry mint spritzer (or something like that) and it was good. Prices were reasonable for the area. Highly recommend!

The home kitchen lives up to it’s came. A restaurant with a home neighborhood feel. It was a humid evening, the AC on the restaurant works great. We ordered blue point oysters, which were as fresh as could be. My son got a grilled cheese with fries, it’s seldom that a restaurant gets the fries properly crispy, they nailed it. Their famous dishes were the chicken pot pie and short rib. The chicken pot pie was the best I’ve ever had. They used thigh meat, which makes all the difference. They also used fresh, not frozen peas and carrots. The pungent celery taste hits you in the face, which I liked. The short rib, was cooked in a wine sauce, reduced nicely. The rib was tender, juicy and flavorful, accompanied by excellent mashed potatoes. Our servers were very pleasant, they contributed to the vibe of the place. Too bad we don’t live in the area, I would be here often.

I am starting a quest to find the best chicken pot pies in New York City. Home Kitchen was my first stop and it did not disappoint. I shared my pie with a friend and we finished it all. (It’s single serving so you can have your own if you want). The crust was flakey and inside chicken/veggies delicious. I wish there was more crust because it was so good. Calm safe vibes and can’t wait to return.

Excellent location, cozy vibe, and quaint atmosphere. The food was amazing. We had the French Onion soup…the crust of the bread and the pleasant odor of Gruyere made the soup spectacular…the special Spinach and Artichoke Dip, you can see the actual artichokes (unlike in major chains where it’s just mush), and the eggplant parm…DELISH…very plentiful helping of eggplant and not heavy or greasy…just perfect. For drinks we got the Ginger margarita and the lychee mocktail, both delicious and flavorful. The service was wonderful. It was a busy evening and noticed how well the staff works together and communicated with each other while assisting each other’s tables. Bravo!
