Had a fantastic meal at Ishtabach. This place really stands out for its unique and flavorful food. The shawarma platter was incredible—perfectly seasoned, generous portion, and packed with flavor in every bite. The pulled beef flatbread was absolutely sick, with tender, rich beef and a perfectly baked flatbread that brought everything together.

One of the most interesting items on the menu was the Shamburak. It’s a very unique dish you don’t see often, and it was both creative and really tasty. Definitely something worth trying when you visit. The falafel was fresh and flavorful, with a great texture, and the grilled chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right.

Overall, the food felt authentic, creative, and very satisfying. If you’re in the area and looking for something a little different with bold flavors, Ishtabach is definitely worth the stop. Great food and a memorable meal.

5/5 Stars: A Taste of the Middle East!

We had an incredible dining experience at Ishtabach! The moment we stepped in, we were transported to the vibrant streets of the Middle East.

The ambiance was lively, with traditional decor and mesmerizing music. But the real star of the show was the food – our Shamburak was absolutely divine!

Flavors were rich, spices were perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous. Service was attentive and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable.

We can’t wait to come back and try more of their delicious Middle Eastern dishes!

I personally did not enjoy my food here.
The other people I came with enjoyed themselves.
The shawarma & beef Cigars were good as well as the chicken fingers.
The pulled beef inside the balls thing was cold and the fries weren’t crispy.
The food tasted pretty Middle Eastern however I usually enjoy middle eastern style but I didn’t really enjoy myself.
I didn’t like the fact that they don’t offer tap water and make you buy bottled water.
It’s not only a price thing, it’s more a principal that restaurants offer bottled or tap.

The service was quick and fast and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The place was clean and well lit.

Inviting clean place with good service, and well priced. I had a great frena, asado arancini, and a good shamburak , I just wasn’t into the cilantro and white pepper flavor, but it was overall delicious. Highly recommended

Ishtabach Toms River is mamash one of those places that makes you stop and say, “Okay… this is real food.” If you like authentic Israeli / Middle Eastern flavors with that warm, hearty, fresh-from-the-kitchen vibe — this spot is a huge yes.

The atmosphere is cozy and lively, and the whole place feels like it knows what it’s doing. You walk in and you already smell the spices and the fresh baking/cooking, and you realize you’re not leaving with “just a snack.” This is the kind of place where you come hungry and you leave full, happy, and slightly regretful that you didn’t wear looser pants.

The food is the main ikkar here — everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The filled pastries and Middle Eastern staples have that authentic, homemade feel, like the kind of food that doesn’t need a thousand sauces to be good — it’s just seasoned right and done properly. Portions are generous, and you definitely get value. It’s also a great place to bring someone who’s never tried this style of food before, because it’s very approachable and really satisfying.

Service is generally quick and efficient, and even when it’s busy, they keep things moving. It’s a great spot for takeout, a casual sit-down meal, or when you’re in the area and you want something different than the usual.

Bottom line: Ishtabach is fresh, flavorful, hearty kosher food done right — a real geshmak place. Highly recommended… just don’t come saying “I’m only grabbing something small,” because you’ll end up ordering like you’re feeding the whole chevra.

Beautifully decorated place. Interesting type of foods not the regular food you get at home so quite unique but you gotta like the taste very middle eastern. Breads freshly baked on location. Takeout is very nicely packed and seems fresh
