A group of four of us went here for an early dinner. The venue is spacious with indoors and outdoors. The tequila and aperol spritz cocktail was delicious. Portions & the food was very good. Staff are lovely.

Look at the replies, everyone who’s dissatisfied is a ‘disgruntled uber driver’!? STOP your derogatory hominem attacks with occupational shaming and improve…

Terrible Thai food, ordered basil fried noodles with beef takeaway, came out extremely small portion with absolutely no basil, meat smelled unfresh and crazily spicy while I ordered mild.

Service was terrible, the short hair lady was just argumentative towards everything I said, meat tasted different because they used veal not beef, too spicy because I couldn’t tolerate chili, no basil because that’s how they make it. Disappointing and far below average…

Very expensive for the food you get, wonder why it’s not closed down.

Located in a double storey Victorian heritage terrace in the heart of five ways Paddington. Lovely atmosphere with unique decor throughout the restaurant, especially in the ladies room, they use a massive wok for the wash basin!

The homemade Fish Cakes were delicious. The thick patties were soft, juicy & moist and packed with flavours.

Other dishes which worth mentioning were Prawn Betel Leaves, Crispy Fillet Barramundi
Mango Salad and Midnight Magic.

For the rest of the dishes, they were below average.

Moo Ping the grilled pork skewers were tender but lack of flavour. They were more boiled than grilled.
Wagyu beef in Crying Tiger was tough and dry, totally overcooked.
The nam jim jeaw dipping sauce for both grilled meat dishes could be more bold and punchy.

Tom Yum Soup was a total letdown. I appreciated the generous amount of large prawns in it but the soup was watery & bland. If it was my first time tasting Tom Yum Soup, I’d be disappointed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the food and extra ⭐️ for the service and ambience

Oh my! Well this was a joy to revisit! Arrived super early for the start of Dinner and was greeted by the lovely Miss Aey (pronounced ‘Air’, how pretty). We literally had the pick of our seating, which was just as well because within an hour it was already filling up. Eat Thai has that laid back, good vibe feeling that makes being here such a pleasure. The Old world charm of this building, which they have used to their advantage, is as inviting to look at as it is to enter. The decor inside is rich and earthy with seating that is well spaced and doesn’t make you feel you’re on top of the next table, something that I try to avoid. Our waitress arrived with a beaming smile to take our order which just automatically puts you in a great mood. Drinks arrived quickly and our orders were taken with no fuss. Our order was fairly quick, something that was expected as we were some of the first customers and well…..The chef didn’t disappoint. We started with juicy, fragrant fish cakes that just burst in your mouth. A big bowl of Fried rice with herbs, which I like to order from restaurants (if they have) just to compare. Eat Thai….I think you now make my favourite Fried Rice! Stir Fry prawns with snowpeas that smelt divine and tasted so fresh, Satay chicken skewers that come with ‘the best’ sauce and the Waygu Beef salad- melt in your mouth magic!
We also ordered takeaways for a family member, which the waitress was more than happy to do. Mixed entree, Steamed dumplings and the Sticky Black Rice and Mango. This arrived all packed and ready to go when we left but unfortunately I haven’t taken photos of everything we had or even this take-home order which was eaten that very night… needless to say…there wasn’t much left over.
I really enjoy coming here… I have always had fantastic, polite service with amazing Food that never disappoints. Something that can be rare to find. Even though I’m not here that often, I ‘always’ make it a point to come back to Eat Thai.
Here is a little footnote…
I made a quick trip to the bathroom and thought it was worth commenting on. This is not something I usually do, but because it made an impression on me I thought I would include it in this review. What a cute room. It has rough looking wood paneling, a giant Wok bowl for a basin and subtle accessories on the bench and best of all…. it was clean and smelled like a bouquet of flowers. Seriously!

I am not an Uber driver. I am a paying customer who placed a takeaway order.
After reading the owner’s responses to other low reviews, it is clear that labeling dissatisfied customers as “Uber drivers” is a repeated tactic, rather than an accurate description.
This suggests the restaurant is aware that Uber and takeaway orders are consistently delayed, yet chooses to accept them anyway.
Being busy does not justify misleading public responses or shifting responsibility onto customers instead of addressing operational issues.

The long wait time happened. This review reflects that experience.

I am a customer, not an Uber driver.
Misidentifying customers does not change the wait time or the experience.

If takeaway capacity cannot be handled properly, it may be better not to offer it at all.

The owner’s continued refusal to acknowledge the issue reflects a lack of accountability and professionalism.

The owner’s response shows no willingness to reflect or improve, which is concerning for customers.

The location is great spot.

Food was good , also big portions. But I have tried more authentic and tastier Thai food in Sydney in other places. Overall a nice place to be, should try once for sure.

I recently visited Eat Thai Paddington, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic Thai flavours, fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced spices. Every dish was cooked to perfection, from the curries to the stir-fries. The service was equally impressive; the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making sure everything was just right throughout the meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for both casual dining and a nice night out. Overall, Eat Thai Paddington is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves great food and excellent service. Highly recommended!

Just letting you know that I can’t leave over you about the food because I couldn’t eat it. I ordered a green Thai curry. I’m staying in a hotel. I am from the United States and I’ve never ordered food where you did not get rice with a curry dish so I didn’t receive any rice. I’m extremely unhappy this cost $53 for rice and an appetizer.

When I called the restaurant instead of trying to solve the problem, she told me that it was my problem because I didn’t order rice.

Food was too cold. If they served us ice cream it would’ve been warmer. They took forever to bring out our food. In saying this all of the cashews in my dish was burnt and I didn’t even taste the dish as the burnt cashews over powered it. Should’ve had maccas.
