Ordered food to go and was ready on time. Resturant is decorated nicely with a good atmosphere. It was my first time having the lamb Kadu Palow and would definitely order again, pumpkin and lamb were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The mashawa soup was delicious and could tell it was fresh by the lentils not being soggy this place made a great first impression

Have ordered large catering takeout many times for family events and it’s delicious food. Lamb chops, chicken, and all the appetizers, and sauces/dips are wonderful. Beautifully decorated restaurant inside and kind staff- can get too busy and understaffed at times, but always worth the wait, as the food feels like it is cooked with love.
We have introduced many people to Afghan cuisine and they are always appreciative and think it is delicious.

We love dining at Panjshir. The food is always delicious. Esmat is a wonderful host and the waitstaff are all very nice and efficient. All the appetizers and entrees we have tried are so tasty. I got firnee for dessert tonight. It reminded me of junket, a pudding type dessert, that my Mom made when I was a kid. Yum!

This was our first Afghan experience and wow, was it good! All of the food tends toward a sweet/savory combo, with just enough spice to keep things interesting. Portions are giant, but a lot of the main courses can be found on the appetizers or sides menus, which was a nice option for our son who doesn’t eat much.
Specifically worth trying: the pumpkin was phenomenal and the chocolate pudding dessert was delicious.

seriously delicious. came in for lunch with no expectations and was still blown away. got the kadu palow with lamb, it came out fast and hot. the balance between the sweetness of the pumpkin and the savoriness of the lamb was perfect.
bread also came out as an app and it was fluffy and chewy in the best way possible. sauces that came with it were awesome too.

Went there for dinner today for first time and I loved it. Cozy place, great service and owner is very nice and friendly. They’ve been in business for 6 years at this location now. Great place in falls church to go for lunch or dinner and have a drink because they have a full bar and good selection of wines. Perfect place to go with family and friends or date night dinner. I highly recommend it.

Really good food. Fairly priced. Packed with flavor. The rice has a unique taste to it. The tea is top notch. Bathroom was clean. Overall hygiene of this restaurant is above average. Near a brewery. Convenient for drinks before or after dinner, or while you wait for seat openings.
