After all the hype and commercials on Jimmy John’s, I thought it would at least be satisfactory. My grands suggested going to get a sandwich before the movie. I must honestly say this was the worst money I’ve spent in a long time. The presentation was lackluster. The taste was non-existent. All I can say is my sandwich was not dry, and the shredded lettuce was fresh. However, for $15.60, for a #1 and #15 sandwiches, I did expect them to have a taste. Well, I can’t say that I plan to go back. I definitely don’t recommend this place either. One word summarization: disappointed.

In the past several months my orders have been wrong and the staff very unprofessional. I love Jimmy Johns but the hobart location’s staff consistently gives me horrible and rude service.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A JJBLT? BLT stands for Bacon, LETTUCE, Tomato yet my sandwich was bacon and tomato. yet my order was a JJBLT light tomato, I got no lettuce, no mayo, no vinegar and oil. Manager after the fact took care of it for the future, which is appreciated.

Last night I went to the restaurant around 8:35. All of the meat and condiments were moved and they were no longer making sandwiches in the normal area. This should have been my sign to leave. When I placed my order a lady started making my sandwich (on the counter by the wall) I noticed she already had on gloves (she didn’t put on a clean pair when she started my sandwich) but I didn’t make a big deal out of it. She started making my sandwich but stopped because the young man on the register was having issues with it. She came over to help him by picking up the dusty register (gloves still on). Once she was done helping him she went back to making my sandwich by touching bacon and putting it on my sandwich (same gloves still on). I asked her if that was my sandwich because she is using dirty gloves. She rolled her eyes, took off the dirty gloves, put on new gloves with an attitude and threw the sandwich in the garbage. At this point I just wanted our food and to leave. I had ordered two sandwiches. Once she was done with my sandwich she brought it to the other side where she tossed it on the paper. The sandwich fell apart and she just left it sitting there. Once again she rolled her eyes. At this point I no longer felt comfortable eating there. The custom service was terrible and I’m not going to risk my family and I getting sick due to unsanitary practices. I asked for a refund. The young man apologized and stated he was new and didn’t know how to process refunds. He kept apologizing. I reassured him that it wasn’t him and that he was fine. However I still wanted a refund and was very unhappy with the service. I said You don’t treat customers the way I was being treated and I don’t have to support that business. I will gladly take my money elsewhere. The young lady turns around and starts yelling that’s she’s sorry but she had been at work since 11 and was tired. At that point I didn’t want to hear an apology. The apology should have come when she tried to make my sandwich with dirty gloves. I just wanted a refund and to leave. The new young man says to me “well she’s trying to apologize to you and you aren’t listening”. I again repeated myself that I was not interested in her apology at that point. She went to the register to process my refund. I asked her who the manager was she initially said she was. I then asked who was over her and she said “Kevin”. I asked for a receipt which she refused to give me one. The young man then handed me a receipt. She rolled her eyes at him. I have been to this restaurant many times and had never received service so terrible. I won’t be back.

Horrible attitudes from employees and management. I brought the issues to the attention of corporate and all I got back was “oh sorry, we’ll let the franchise owners know” like that solves anything.

Jimmy John’s used to be a favorite. Unfortunately I just purchased as $7 veggie sandwich that is the saddest sandwich I’ve ever had. Do not waste your money here.

Every single time I order here they are always short a delivery driver or staff and it takes nearly an hour to get my food. Drinks have ice completely melted. This location literally gives Jimmy Johns a bad name.
