I can’t get enough of Callahan’s Irish Bistro,! From the egg rolls, to the Reuben, bangers and mash and then good LORD that decadent bread pudding!!! This place is a an absolute must and a local gem. 1000/10. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is exactly what you want for an Irish Bistro. And I want to point out my absolute favorite part of Callahan’s is when Charles worked with his team to help a family calm their fussy baby. He was discreet and kind. I thought people could appreciate that it’s a genuine family and good people who work here at Callahan’s. Loyal customer for life!

What can I say about this place? Pretty much everything here is amazing. It’s easily my go-to spot when I’m craving good food in a laid-back atmosphere. The wings are always spot on, the Irish egg rolls are a must-try, and you can’t go wrong with the burgers, fish and chips, or the reuben. If you want something a little different, the salmon wellington is fantastic too.

It’s classic bar food, but it’s consistently done right. Every dish I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely one of those places where you can order anything off the menu and know it’s going to be good. Love the staff they are always so friendly. I always look foward to coming here. Try the sangria! You will love it!

Stopped in on a Tuesday not many people, nice decor and alot of inside seating and available outside seating too. Felt cozy!
They also have bar seating and a fully stocked bar!
We ordered bangers and Mash it was good.
I had a special request on the club sandwich instead of turkey and ham I asked for a grilled chicken breast and they happily accommodated me and it was delicious.
I did also ask for piping hot fries and unfortunately I was disappointed because they were twice fried and super oily luckily for me our server Vanessa was awesome and she replaced them with a fresh batch. You can tell the difference in the second picture.
So yes, the fries are actually really good when they are fresh!
We also ordered a French dip to go with fries. I didn’t get to try that so I don’t know how it tasted.
Also had 4 Tito‘s and soda cocktails
Not too strong and not weak made just right, that was $7 a pop for singles.
So in total for three meals and four drinks we spent right at $80 before tip.

We will go back and try something different next time!

Stopped in for a snack and had The Dubliner which included 2 Irish egg rolls cut into 4 pieces, corned beef & cabbage as well as their Shepard’s pie. Talk about delicious. It fed 4 and then some…finished off with the most AMAZING dessert BOOZY BREAD PUDDING. Let’s just say it gave me goose bumps ! The owner was going around to each table checking on your visit and all servers acted as a team. We will be back!

Another hidden gem in Orange Park! The food here is absolutely amazing. On my first visit, I tried the fish and chips—a classic choice that did not disappoint.

Lately, I’ve been in a burger mood, so I went back to try the smashed burger—and wow, it was incredible. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It’s not huge, but it’s satisfying; if you’re really hungry, go for two patties. The fries were just as impressive—crispy and delicious.

In a rare event, I went back a second time in the same week to try the Reuben, along with cheese sticks and a club sandwich. Everything was excellent.

Callahan’s Irish Bistro truly delivers on quality and flavor—it’s a spot worth visiting again and again.

Went on a Friday night and the place was hopping. The atmosphere is 100% Irish Pub and even had an Irish band playing. We were seated right away, but the service was just awful – not enough staff for the number of guests. The pretzel app was tasty, but the spinach and artichoke dip had no flavor at all. The fish and chips dinner was meh. The fries/chips were fine but the fish batter had no flavor and the bottom was still slightly mushy – just needed one more flip in the fryer basket. Would’ve been nice to have the traditional slice of bread and a lemon, too.

I’ll probably give them another chance on a slower day because I think they probably have something I’d enjoy. It’s tough to be fair when the service was so poor that we had no drinks to wash our food down with.

I recently visited this Irish pub and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting—classic dark wood interiors and cozy lighting.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. It is owned by two sisters and they do incredible job of making every customer welcomed. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was spot-on—crispy, flavorful, and served piping hot. My husband had the French dip and said it was his favorite out of all he tried so far. The owners let us try corned beef and it was cooked to perfection. Drinks are strong :).
Whether you’re looking for a hearty meal, a good pint, or a place to unwind with friends, this place nails it. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

First time visit. Loved the atmosphere-cozy and warm lighting. Even though TV screens showing sports are visible from almost every seat, the sound doesn’t overtake the table conversation. Love the food! Best service I’ve had in a long time. I took a photo of 2 dinners pineapple and ham pizza, and club sandwich with fries

I really wanted to love this place more because the ambience is fantastic. It has that cozy, authentic pub feel that makes it a great spot to hang out in Orange Park. I genuinely enjoyed my time there and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for.
However, the major downside was the seasoning. The food was way too salty. I’m not sure if it was just a heavy hand in the kitchen during my visit, but it definitely overpowered the actual flavors of the dish.
I had a good time and love the vibe, but between the salt levels and the experience, it lands right in the middle for me. I’d consider going back for the atmosphere and a drink, but I’d be a bit hesitant on the food next time.

I was really excited to give this place a try, it had been a while since I’ve had fish and chips and this place seemed genuine, authentic and very frequented with relatively good reviews so being in Jax on business, I wanted to make a stop here with my family. There was plenty of good and some not-so-good. Also, I want to iterate that I’m being constructive because this is a beautiful place with beautiful people, you should definitely go, but the entrees that we got specifically could use huge improvement.

Let’s get the bad out of the way: I came for the fish and chips and they absolutely DIDN’T DELIVER. Batter and fish itself was flavorless and a bit too oily and greasy. I get it’s fried fish at the end of day, but even the Harry Potter area at Universal delivered leaps and bounds beyond this dish and it’s a theme park. This was a huge let down because I really was looking forward to a new standard being set, but it fell short – chips/fries were good though. I don’t ever leave anything on my plate, even if it’s not great, but I took two bites of the fish and left it. They were very kind and understanding to take it off the final bill.

My wife’s pasta Alfredo was better and edible, but top three most bland either of us has ever had, both Alfredo and chicken breast were under seasoned. Alfredo is tough to get wrong and unfortunately this one isn’t great but it this could partly be out fault for getting pasta in an Irish place. Honestly, even my son’s tenders were bland, which is wild because typically those are sure fire. If we ever came back around, we’d order something else and I’d recommend absolutely avoiding the fish and chips and not going for the pasta – Maybe the Shepard’s Pie if the gravy is flavorful or the French Dip Sandwich which has never missed for me anywhere.

Now that all that is out of the way, let me talk about the positive because there was genuinely so much of it. Our server, Wendy, was so kind and attentive, we had our toddler with us and she was so engaging with him and a gentlemen who appears to be the manager came by with a tic tac toe toy that he loved – this was very nice. This definitely seems like a spot that locals love and we felt welcomed and taken care of. Because of the service itself, we would consider giving it another try next time we’re in town. But some of the food was actually very good. The star of the night was the French Onion Soup – WOW! Absolutely exceptional flavor, texture of onion rendered down and whatever else is in there is beautiful. It was more than the typical rainy Florida afternoon and we got swamped in the drive up 95 so this savory, rich, comforting soup hit the spot. Even if you just stop by for the soup, it’s well worth it. The buffalo wings were great too!

All in all, great service and ambiance – welcoming to families, but I’m sure you can get a nice genuine pub experience sitting at the bar. Do your homework on entrees and if something isn’t right, they’ll make it right – they’d do well tweaking some key entrees, especially fish and chips. Service in incredible.
