Friendly staff the french fries and onion ring were really crispy. The homemade ranch was delicious. They also have these wonderful looking cakes we did not buy this round there was enough food on the plate to fill our tummies. The restaurant is very clean and has a great atmosphere.

Fovero offers a solid dining experience with a mix of Greek and American cuisines that caters to a variety of tastes. I went for the classic gyro with fries, and it hit the spot—well-seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and the fries were crispy and delicious. My wife opted for the falafel, which she enjoyed. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served fresh.

While the food was great, the atmosphere could use a bit of improvement. It didn’t quite capture the authentic Greek vibe I was hoping for—something a little more warm and cozy would have made the experience even better. That said, the restaurant itself was clean, including the bathrooms, and the staff was friendly enough. They were attentive but nothing extraordinary.

The menu offers a nice blend of traditional Greek dishes along with American comfort food like burgers and steaks, which makes it a good choice for families. The pricing is very reasonable.

Speaking of families, they do have a kids’ menu, so it’s definitely family-friendly. We’ll likely be back, but I hope the atmosphere gets a little more of a Greek touch next time!

Overall, Fovero is a great spot for a casual meal with a wide variety of options; just don’t expect an entirely Greek-themed experience.

I give Fovero Restaurant: 4/5 Stars

Had the Reuben omelet and avocado toast—10/10. The portions were huge, loaded with flavor, and super satisfying. The omelet had that perfect Reuben taste, and the avocado toast was fresh and seasoned perfectly. Definitely worth ordering again!

Great combination of Greek & American food. We love Greek but we have family that doesn’t so this place is great for all of us. I usually get their gyro fries, which are so good and huge.

The ventilation wasn’t working correctly or something because it was very smokey from the grill. It was so bad that my eyes were red and burning by the time we left. The dining room and the tables were both very small and it was very loud. The wait for our food was exceptionally long- the people behind got up and left after waiting 10 minutes for their drinks. We were halfway through our sandwiches before or fries arrived (which we had to ask about) and once they arrived they were really over cooked. Our server never offered drink refills and did not remove our used dishes even though he walked by several times.

We started by sharing the Greek potatoes (without cheese), and they were absolutely outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of herbs and spices, they were cooked to perfection and soft on the inside. We even tried them with ketchup, and surprisingly, it added a nice extra layer of flavor. Jacob ordered The Grown-Up Grilled Cheese. While the concept was great, the execution had a few flaws. The cheese wasn’t fully melted, which took away from the creamy richness you’d expect in a grilled cheese. The bread had a nice crunch but was slightly soggy in spots, which made the texture a bit inconsistent. The bacon, though flavorful, overpowered the more delicate ingredients, but the fresh tomatoes were a wonderful touch that brightened up the sandwich. On the side, the sweet potato fries completely stole the show. They were easily the best fries we’ve ever had crispy, perfectly cooked, and with subtle hints of cinnamon. The hint of sweetness paired beautifully with the savory notes, without being overwhelming. For my meal, I had the rice bowl (without cheese), and it was a complete delight. The dish was vibrant, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The vegetables were crisp and well-seasoned, the olives added a briny depth that tied everything together, and the rice was fluffy and cooked just right. Every bite felt balanced and satisfying. Finally, I can’t end this review without mentioning the service. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive, checking in just enough to make sure we were enjoying everything without ever feeling rushed. That thoughtful service elevated the whole experience. Overall, this was a 10/10 dining experience. From the standout sweet potato fries to the flavorful rice bowl and excellent hospitality, this place has earned the title of best Greek restaurant in Omaha in our book.

From the minute you walked through the door, you felt like you were in a small town diner where everyone was family. Very relaxed atmosphere and the service was out of this world. The entire staff made you feel like family with welcoming smiles and genuine conversation. Did I mention the food was great too. We went for breakfast and were very impressed. Large portions, great taste, and I can’t tell you enough how delightful the staff. Will definitely be returning!

My first visit and an update at the bottom
Of this review of the other two times we came back to eat

I recently visited this restaurant and had the Mega Gyro, and wow, it was enormous! Honestly, I was full before I even managed to pick it up to eat with my hands. The portion was generous, and the flavors were fantastic!
My wife had a salad with gyro meat, and she loved it. ❤️
My mother-in-law ordered The Ultimate Patty Melt, which is one of her favorite meals of all time. She took half home for dinner, and it looked like two sandwiches! The meat was thick, and she enjoyed it immensely. And for $10 it’s a steal. Sure old people don’t eat much but it was a large sandwich and highly recommended.

We also got Cindy’s Greek Potatoes. $6. come on. well worth it huge potato sliced and delicious.

We also ordered the large onion rings, and they were tasty and well worth the $9.

To cap it all off, we had sweet potato fries, and they were the real deal—actual sweet potatoes with that vibrant orange inside. You rarely see that! They were hot and delicious, perhaps my favorite sweet potato fries ever.

The atmosphere was nothing special; it felt more like a cafeteria. But the food and service were great! I gave it 5 stars because it’s a small business and the quality of the food and service really stood out. I’m glad they spent their money on the food and staff rather than fancy décor. The theme here definitely seems to be large portions, which I absolutely loved. If you’re looking for a hearty meal, I highly recommend giving the Mega Gyro a try! Will definitely be back for more! ✨

Update December 14th 2024.

Originally i had 5 stars for the food
I want to say we came back two more times
Since the original 5 star review above.
I would have to say the second two times have been just ok. I have tried some different items and they again are just ok. The portion size and the gyro meat is good. I usually only write reviews of things i really like or really hate and let the ones in the middle fend for themselves. I didn’t want to remove this review so I wanted to be honest since spending money on restaurant food is of course more than buying and making it yourself so I like to find value in that.
This place still has value in my mind but not a 5 star. I would land at 3.5 for the food. Service is 5 and atmosphere is a 2.5.

Three stars for what can be good food at a good price point, but lacking consistency in kitchen. The gyros (both chicken and lamb), burgers, salads, and fries are great. Large portions so you will not leave hungry. Family friendly. Sometimes the service flow is awkward. Seems like logistics and oversight could improve for a smoother experience.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning and, unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The bacon and sausage were great quality. The pancakes were lukewarm and undercooked in the middle, while the hash browns seemed dry and mushy, likely pre-cooked and reheated on the grill. My omelet was overcooked, with both sides noticeably burned. The coffee was quite weak, and the caramel roll, which appeared to have been microwaved, didn’t taste as fresh as I expected.

With a large number of staff on duty, execution in the kitchen seemed to struggle. I appreciate the effort, but there’s definitely room for improvement in breakfast food preparation and consistency.

Fovero (839 Tara Plaza – (north end of building)). This place is the best! Super friendly and clean. Yes they have great Greek food (I get the “classic gyro sandwich and upgrade to a fovero (+$2.00) adding grilled onions, green bell peppers, mushrooms with more feta (American cheese is an option also) for a delicious big portion bite, fries are good the sweet potato fries are the best!! The steak sandwich, chicken fried chicken, salads don’t disappoint and especially the homemade desserts (amazing cheesecake and layered cakes) are incredible. They do an incredible Sunday morning (07:30-11:00) breakfast. Owner operated with family and friends working there.
