We heard this place was great but didn’t expect it to be one of our favorite dinners ever. The vegan bowl with Katsu style tofu was amazing. We also loved the catfish and broccolini. Also be sure to get a homemade biscuit with honey butter. The team working there were so nice and welcoming! We will be back very soon!

We had the absolute BEST time at The Heron! We had a huge party of 15 for a bachelorette party & booked a 7:30 reservation.
The staff were SO nice and incredibly accommodating throughout our entire time there! We order a ton of cocktails, apps, and entrees, which we know can be a lot for the servers and kitchen crew. The Heron team was kind, quick, and happy to answer our questions. They even honored our request to play Come On Eileen at the end of the night (we ended up being the last party there).
Our server Alex was patient, witty, and matched our energy the entire night, which made the experience so memorable! If we come back to the area we’re 100% coming back!
I recommend The Heron for parties big or small – the food, drink, service, and atmosphere are hard to top!

Doing a “staycation” in the area. This was one of the highlights of our trip – so much that we went on two separate days!
They have an awesome menu – had the corned beef hash on day 1 for breakfast and the beef brisket sandwich on day 2. Both were very fresh and flavorful.
Service was awesome too. The nice host at the front recognized us on our second trip and the servers were solid on both nights.
Will remember this place as one of the best parts of our trip. A must try if you are in the area!

Always a great experience here. First time I’ve come for dinner, previously coming for brunch or lunch. We started with the warmed Spanish style olives which were a nice change. Warmed through without being too hot. For mains I got the blackened catfish with jalapeño-cheddar grits. While expensive at $32, the flavor was very good and I would absolutely order again. Other dishes we got were the veggie burger which has a really nice outer crunch to it being covered in panko, and the vegan grain bowl. The bowl had really nicely katsu style (fried) tofu and for being vegan was incredible flavorful.
Highly recommend making a reservation and coming to enjoy this place!

Wow, was taken here by a very good friend with discerning taste and boy was he right!!!!! The most exciting and fabulously crafted delved eggs I have ever had!! The chef changes flavors weekly so go back over and over for new treats. Chicken liver taurine was impeccable and the Caesar salad had a French flair with the poached egg!!! Genius. Thank you for a wonderful experience and can’t wait for MORE!

Have had this place bookmarked for some time. Finally made the 40 minute drive for dinner and was not disappointed! Friendly staff, cozy vibe. And of course an excellent menu. The best in the biz I’ve come across so far in the area, and well worth a trip if you’re at all nearby.

Our food couldn’t have been more delicious!! Everyone who took care of us was insanely knowledgeable, kind, and personable, making the entire experience just that much better (thank you to our server, Alex, in particular)! We’re a big group and made sure to make reservations because of how busy this place can get, but they did a wonderful job accommodating us. Truly cannot WAIT to return.

We were staying in a nearby town with friends for a weekend getaway and stopped by The Heron for brunch — it was lovely. From the Christmas decorations (which put us all in the holiday spirit) to the kind greeting from the host, the excellent service, and the food and drinks, I highly recommend it. I do suggest making reservations if possible. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 p.m. and were asked if we’d be okay being added to the list for 1:30 p.m. We didn’t mind at all, since the restaurant is on a charming main street with shops, including a small bookstore. That said, if you’re pressed for time, I’d recommend calling ahead. Would absolutely love to visit again in the future!

Whenever I’m in Narrowsburg, this is a must stop. We ate there 10 years ago and then a few times in between, and sat on the deck overlooking the river last Saturday. Consistently solid and delicious, the staff are on point. If the weather allows sit on the deck, make sure to make reservations. Do not miss the deviled eggs and buttermilk fried chicken—two of the best examples of each you will ever have. I loved my limoncello spritzer too. Always new things to try, along with our favorites. Thank you Heron!

I’ve come here several times with my Uncle when I’m visiting, and we always have an amazing meal. We were here for brunch and sat outside. Beautiful view, and we saw a bald eagle hunting as we ate! I had the breakfast burrito and a biscuit with honey butter, and my Uncle had the corned beef hash which is his favorite. I had an iced chai latte too. Everything was great, as always. The food here is very consistent, super yummy, and the people are incredible.
