he Crooked Goat Kitchen & Bar has more of a local dive-bar feel than a modern restaurant. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable or extraordinary. The customer service was good and the staff were friendly, which definitely helped the overall experience.

That said, the space feels a bit outdated and could probably use some remodeling or refreshing to improve the atmosphere. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not somewhere that really stood out.

My husband and I came here for an daytime date while we had the day off and our son was at school. It was the absolute perfect place! The cocktails were absolutely perfect and the food was excellent. The only person working,Kate, nailed it. It got kind of busy and she was able to handle the bar and dining area efficiently and graciously. Can’t wait to come back!

Looking for something new & was not disappointed! CG is a hidden gem in the East Rock area! Vibe was great, staff was friendly & the food was great! Their collard greens were excellent! Beers were a bit warm for my taste, but still good. Whaler’s Muse beer was surprisingly delicious.

Crooked goat is honestly some of the best brunch food I’ve ever had. The fried chicken with sausage gravy over a biscuit was unreal.
Keri was perfect. Just a great place all together. Perfect for an early breakfast on Sunday, or just happy hour and a quick eat. 10/10 not even close. Loved it!!!

Every time I go to the Crooked Goat, the food is great. I enjoy trying the weekly specials, whether that be the food or the cocktails. The management makes an effort to put on events, like the hot wing eating contest to raise money for charity, that are really fun. Just a note, when the space fills up later in the evening, it can get a little loud, which can make holding conversations challenging. All in all, though, it’s a great space with great food, so I highly recommend it.

First, be patient. The food is delicious, the coffee is top notch. Service is Attentive and Atmosphere is welcoming.
For lunch, I enjoyed their wonderful gumbo. My wife had their 2-egg dish special. Both dishes were tasty and generous servings. We told ourselves we would go back when we visit New Haven.

Brunch today with friends was a perfect experience! Server was friendly and super efficient. The bloody Marys were the best ever! Our food choices turned out to be excellent. The voodoo wings were plump crispy and spicy!!! The bennys were great and the bowl items were plentiful and tasty. The shrimp and grits was also a great choice! great service, great food and good company made our experience at the Crooked Goat sheer perfection!
We will go back and try the regular menu very soon!

Great food in a bar atmosphere! Service was quick but not warm and fuzzy, after all it’s a bar. If you’re looking for something to satiate your appetite and thirst head over to the Crooked Goat. Definitely get the voodoo chips and a smash burger.

The staff was welcoming, kind, and worked efficiently. The environment was very comfortable and although it was a bar/restaurant it was very kid friendly.

The food was OUTSTANDING! we had chicken tenders that were crisp but juicy, the fries were perfect, the mac n cheese was creamy and well seasoned. They accommodated our kids with plain fries too!

The fried shrimp po boy was on delicious bread that had a crispness to it but was soft and fluffy on the inside. Shrimp
Was fried to perfection and the sauce put the sandwich over the top. From top to bottom this place rocks and we hope to be back next time we are in New Haven to try some other items on the menu.

I went to The Crooked Goat for the first time last weekend after taking in a play at Yale. The bar and environment, along with menu, changed with new owners.
The atmosphere was very pleasant and the music was not loud. We sat at the bar to eat and drink, and the bartender was very accommodating when I wanted her to make a mocktale that I had in New Orleans.
The food was outstanding. My friend had the voodoo wings, which smelled very spicy, and he said they were fantastic. I had the chicken sandwich that was delicious and spicy too, but my absolute favorite was the collard greens. If you love collards, you will really like theses well-crafted, tender with a nice blend of spice and meat.
The new environment is very pleasant and the new owner “Big Joe” was nice enough to come over to introduce himself. We both spoke about New Orleans because he worked in New Orleans a couple of years. You can really taste his influence on the food.
I would highly recommend eating at the Crooked Goat. It is a nice place for food with a southern appeal with excellent service and environment.
