Ok first. The name has changed to Corey’s Southern Kitchen & Catering. Walked in and immediately greeted with a great individual (damn shame can’t remember his name) but best positive greeting I’ve received in years. Had my cravings set on the hamburger steak, until I saw the chicken livers special. Now all those that can’t stand chicken livers(Bye Felicia) if you’re still here. Best chicken livers smothered in onion and gravy I’ve had in any restaurant setting. Got me a cold beer as I waited for my carryout. This was my first visit there. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food was great! There was plenty of room for the 20 of us and we didn’t feel crowded. The service was somewhat slow. But I still enjoyed the food. If you like southern cooking I recommend Corey’s.

Ordered a crab sandwich and a shrimp po’boy with Mac n’ cheese. The mac n’ cheese tasted delicious and the crab sandwich was made with real crab. It tastes good. The breading looked either over cooked or the oil needed to be changed. The boom boom sauce was tasty. Took our order to go. I’d definitely go back.

Great Soul Food restaurant with lots of homemade options! Don’t discount this place just because it’s connected to a hotel! The food is awesome! Fried Catfish Dinner was outstanding and the Liver and Onions , luscious! Even the Mashed Potatoes were freshly made! Sides were delish also, killer Collards , tasty Baked Beans (homemade too?). Not a fan of the Coleslaw, though, too rough of a chop and a thin semi-bland sauce. Don’t let let anything deter your tasty dinner waiting for you at Corey’s!!

Back again – for the Catfish. Maybe Monday was not the cook’s best day . The fish was fried perfectly (but I question it being Catfish) and for whatever it was, tasty ! The French Fries were waaayy over cooked and the Coleslaw no better than before. Baked Beans were ok and the Potato Salad yummy! The best part of this meal was the ‘Cathead’ biscuit served warm while waiting for our order!

The Chicken is Boss. I had white meat and it was not dry. The Mac was on point and the collard greens were delicious. I am a very picky eater. I had flashbacks of my childhood.

Food was good and plenty and the service was excellent! It was a pleasure seeing my classmate Hope Bartlett as she was one of the owners and or employees here. We had a private room to ourselves. Tables and chairs were nice and black. The food on the buffet was served by 3 people. Ice tea and lemonade was on one table and desserts (pound cake and peach pie or cobbler) on another table. Someone came around to collect and or remove our plates after we were done. Y’all come and get you some of this! We had baked and fried chicken, green beans, roast beef, yeast rolls, yams, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy.

We did a family meet here and chose Corey’s for pickup catering. Great decision! Food was delicious and well prepared! Staff were friendly and handled the pick up in a timely manner! We will most definitely use them again and look forward to enjoying their dine in restaurant while here! Thank you. Fried chicken was awesome and not greasy!

This food is on point! They actually had a meal that came with four chicken wing cats and four pieces of shrimp which is like a perfect portion for me and then it also came with two side items so I was able to try both the things I wanted the macaroni and cheese in the mashed potatoes and they are amazing as well The flavor in this chicken I don’t normally eat the drums but I haven’t even tasted a flat yet he would be making a mistake not to go to this place.

Okay… Everybody reading the reviews are saying what’s all the hype about in these reviews. Well the real story is all the food is homemade and delicious!! Every customer that was sitting eating raved about their food. I had the pork chops dinner..two nice sized pork chops with sides of mashed potatoes and yams and they were fantastic!!
Other people in the restaurant raved about their own food also, the Whiting, Catfish and of course the freshly made fried chicken.. All the food fresh made and looked delicious.
One of the most pleasant experiences about my short wait for fresh cooked food was meeting Corey himself. He is very proud of his family and the recipes and great quality of food, and rightfully so!!! Go ahead and try this great little place before it gets on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives because it will!!! Family ran and operated serving awesome home cooked food like you are a guest in the kitchen of their home!!
